Virtual Table Tops

While watching a video on the play test for the new Twilight 2000 game, the guy that posted the video gave a link for a easy to use (as far as I can tell) Virtual Table Top called gTrove it stores your work in your google drive.
I've only tipped my toe into it so far but it seems like it can work well. I haven't figured out how other people connect on to the table yet.

I simply use Tabletop Simulator on steam. It's thus far been a very valuable tool for only 20 bucks

What are the PC specs required for the Tabletop Simulator? I too see it's on sale at Steam and been considering it, I'm playing a game of Panzer Leader by e-mail and my opponent keeps showing me screen shots of our game in the simulator and it looks amazing.

Very nice. Are the hexes 200 meters?
I came across some panzer leader scenarios at look good here.

There is a PanzerBlitz / Panzer Leader / Arab-Israeli Wars group on Facebook and every variant you can think of has been created. France 1940, Tunisia, modern, custom units with flashy colors, units that weren't included in the game like forward observers and individual leaders. One guy has custom built a map that covers something like 8 x 10 miles of terrain and would be capable of playing a multi-division game.

Here is a sampling of some of the custom projects players have shared:

Some of the more adventurous examples. German divisional crests so you can tell formations apart. And some moderns.

I recognise that work! It's Oriskany Jim from the Sitrep youtube/podcast channel.

Right, he uses them on Vassal. I don't know if he uses them on Tabletop or not.

Also I just tried it out and my relatively old and un-sexy PC was able to run Tabletop Simulator. From what I can tell it's like a 3D version of Vassal with some other bells and whistles.

There seems to be a certain learning curve with the simulator, and in addition I believe it's still a work in progress. Vassal is a lot simpler and I may stick with that, at least until I get a new PC
