So, I got the itch to watch the Mad Max movies this past weekend, and it got me thinking about what my favorite apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic movies were. These are mine in no particular order:

Threads - Most disturbing film on nuclear warfare and its potential effects I have ever seen.
Mad Max series - Raw. Gritty. Violent. Kick ass car chases. Australia.
On the Beach - Bleak.
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb - Love the dark humor and absurdity.
Night of the Living Dead - The movie that started the zombie genre. I still think it's the best. It's eerie, depressing and claustrophobic.

What are yours?

The first Resident Evil... (trailer for Final chapter).

Not a fan of RE, but EXCELLENT use of the Gunner's Paradise City on the second trailer!!!

I am Legend ... about 3/4 of it ... hated the ending.

There were 2 (or more?) endings released: one with him dying, and one with him surviving. Dig around on youtube?

Not really good, but entertaining if and when drinking a lot of beer: Cyborg with Jean-Claude van Damme

And don't forget Wall-E, Escape form New York, Waterworld and Judge Dredd!

And, of course, The Matrix trilogy and The Hunger Games series.
