Al Hillah Battle

[TRANSFERRED FROM THE REPOSITORY : US MARINE MODULE REQUIRED]

This is the Stand Alone and last Battle # 5 of the coming El Derjine Campaign, being fought after having won the # 4Situation: Enemy Forces The enemy has retreated from Midoum and no contact has been made for the last 24 hours. No satellite imageries will be available before, this evening at the earliest, since a program overhaul has been launched, to repair a detected anomaly. S2 is unable to give us a confirmed picture of what we might have to fight in the next hours. He thinks that we still have remnants, in front of us, of the Midoum’s troops, lacking leadership, equipments and having probably not been resupplied. The fact that, we took Al Hillah without a fight seems to confirm its situation analyse. ^Situation: Friendly ForcesAt 12:25, part of the 2nd BCT, made of C Company / 1st Batt. Rifle, 3 M1A1 FEP tanks of 2nd platoon / D Company / 2nd Battalion tanks, 2 CAT elements from 1st battalion rifle are being replenished at the moment at their AP of Al Hillah by 4 trucks of 2ndplatoon. No reinforcement will reach us before 4 hours, besides, the artillery has not been able to keep up pace with us and has not been resupplied.

^Situation: Terrain and WeatherThe weather is overcast and warm, the ground is damp with a W light wind. No change in the next 36 hours. ^Mission: Overall DescriptionOur mission is first, to deny the observation and defence facilities by the enemy, from the 3 strongpoints manned on the Baklava ridge. Second to secure the left exit of Al Hillah along the highway. Third the village of Mahatt Urand fourth the Kerbal gap.^Execution: Commander’s IntentAfter having been resupplied, C Company platoons will deploy at 12:35 and will assault El Zair (Obj: Green) as soon as the mortar barrage will be lifted. On their left flank, The Baklava (Obj:Yellow) and El Krim (Obj: Blue) strongpoints will be concealed by smoke. Once Green taken, 2 platoons will proceed to Yellow and one finally to Blue. Meanwhile 2nd platoon’s tanks will move toward Obj: Red, overwatching Obj : Yellow and Blue, while advancing. 1st battalion F.O will provide during that time a continuous mortar barrage on the objectives. Once Obj: Red, Green, Blue and yellow taken, if condition prevails the Kerbala gap (Obj: Rams) and the village of Mahatt Ur (Obj:Peach) should be secured by efficient fields of fire from overwatch consolidated positions.Air support won’t be available at least for the next 50 minutes, since a sand storm is delaying in flight refuelling facilities necessary to have the flights on station, ready to carry on call strike without unduly delays.Air assets are the following : 2 F/A18D Hornet (call sign : “Hammer Sledge”) from 3rd element Air support and 2 AV-8B Harrier ( call sign : “Tomahawk”) from 1st Element Air support.Set your watches, rejoin your troops and get this ridge and its strongpoints. Be cautious, however, if no enemies have been seen that doesn’t mean, they aren’t there somewhere waiting for us. Last, but not the least, remember that when a good planning falls apart, you should not follow it blindly but use your field awareness to make the difference. Let’s go^To be only played Blue against red A.I with CMSF – USMC Module V 1.11
