Hi everyone! I'm approximately 10-12 squirrels in a trenchcoat. I mostly play tactical-level games, mostly 20th century, with a bit of Field of Glory II Medieval or Pike and Shot Campaigns thrown in. I'm still on CMx1 because I'm far too attached to it, as well as Close Combat (the Matrix remakes). I do have Shock Force 2 + expansions, but I'm massively hampered by my lack of knowledge when it comes to modern equipment.
I'm an historian by training, although my field is the Great War which in my opinion tends to make for rubbish wargames (I still haven't got around to trying John Tiller's attempt). I'm a singleplayer gal usually because it suits my schedule, but I'm sure I'll be tempted to PBEM eventually. At the moment I'm puzzling my way through Panzer Battles: Normandy. I loved John Tiller's West Front etc, and I thought this would be similar. Turns out, not really! And I suck at it! Almost feels like an operational game with a bit more room to move, and I'm really bad at operational games. I aspire to one day play one in a way that won't make proper operational grogs cringe. I like written AAR's, so although they don't seem to be popular anymore I might post one or two.
