Just a few more views. In reference to Lt. Col. Millet's fall-back postion after being prevented from taking Amfreville, Les Landes appears to be an 'area' or 'location' rather than a village. Having reconstructed the map, it seems most likely to me that Millet's men, which came to number in excess of 400 men, dug into the forest just east of Les Landes crossroads. When Millet tried to link up with Lt.Col. Timmes a few days later, the map shows that the only possible chance he would have had would be to move around the north of Amfreville between that town and the Grey Castle. To the south there are too many defensible villages and farms blocking his path.
