Okay, April 1st it is. Gives me a chance to re-learn the game myself in preparation for making you look foolish.
Yeah, Mark, you are right, there were OGRE and a couple more after that one. I specifically remember two if not a third. I remember the first time I played it came down to the last turn....and I lost. Low rolled my AT gun (last one) and the OGRE knocked me out.In the (very) dim recesses of my brain, I seem to think I owned this game as a board game. Was it? (too lazy, er, busy to look up). Maybe I am thinking Car Wars.
That's what I remember. The plastic bag/sleeve. Also the same with my all time favorite RPG, Melee, and Advanced Melee. Loved that game.I had it in the late 70s in a pocket edition.
Paper map in a plastic sleeve, no box

Yes, and they also released "adventures" that were solo play. I remember one about the search for the Holy Grail, and something about an Orb tower. Great fun. And the combat was simple but felt real.I think Melee pre dated D&D
Oh my, isn't "somewhere's" dangerously close to "trash can"..?Ha! I've got that stuff buried away somewheress...

Like a time capsule...Its been buried for 15+ years, so pretty safe from the trash can...
Be careful what you wish for...
