Santa Barbara Beach

They put up this graveyard and take it down every weekend. Guys sleep in the sand next to it and keep watch over it at night so nobody messes with it. Every cross has the name, rank and D.O.B. and D.O.D. on it.Very moving, very powerful. So many young volunteers. So many 30 to 40 year olds as well.

Amazing!

The ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) has filed a suit to have all Military
Cross-shaped headstones removed.

And that they filed another suit to end prayer from the military completely. They're making great progress.

The Navy Chaplains can no longer mention Jesus's name in prayer thanks to the ACLU and our new administration.

'Heavenly Father, hold our troops in Your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in this our time of need.
These things I humbly ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.'

The ACLU actions have been in response to the zealots in the US military who insist upon spreading their gospel to a captive audience. When military commanders call for a formation/assembly of their troops and then start proselytizing, they have crossed the line. The GIs who do not believe and would just as soon not be there, cannot walk away, without facing sanctions and possibly disciplinary actions from their superiors. I support the separation of church and state.

The guy who puts the above display on, is making an anti-war statement and I am grateful for his dedication to the cause.

I agree Facman...it is not the place to proselytize. The ACLU should not have the ability to dictate how a person prays though. It is one of the foundations that Christians use the name of Christ at the end of their prayers.

I whole heartily agree with Facman.
Well said, my friend.

It's a question of freedom of choice ... and it cuts both ways.

The problem with the ACLU ...it is like unions (which I feel are necessary)... they become what the wanted to stop or fight against.
