Tourneys and Campaigns - looking ahead for 2014

Been thinking about the tourneys and campaigns I'm running here at FGM.

Last Man Standing VIII --
the current tourney will most probably be the last installment of this tourney series for me.
If someone else wants to take over running these from me after this one is concluded, let me know.

King of the Hill -- so far, this has been fun and pretty easy to keep going, so this'll keep going on as long as players and challengers are keen.
(who knows .... at this point maybecurrent King @MeatEtr will last on the throne longer than I'll keep my interest going in this ;) )

CM: RISK -- I'll manage this and play it out until the end and one team achieves wrold domination or we all collapse from exhaustion (no idea how long it'll take) -- it didn't quite work out as originally intended, but it's doing quite ok with the behind-the-scenes diplomacy)

CM: Diplomacy -- this concept could possibly replace CM:Risk after its completion. I have played around with the concept and it could work with the QB system that Shorker and I are using in our Rico-Shorker War mini-campaign.

I am thinking of taking a bit of a break from running campaigns and tourney admin... and return to getting my hands dirty again actually playing the games, esp. CMBN etc.

Looking forward to what CM East Front may bring ... I may relaunch a newer version of the successful CMBB Cross Of Iron campaign where a select number of players lead their small Panzer Kampfgruppe through a linked narrative campaign and where I play the Russians in all the carefull choreographed battles.

But that'll depend on what CM East Front looks like :)

I second Ted's expression of gratitude for all you do to help make this site the special place it is. ~Salute~ <O

@Rico you are the pillar and backbone of FGM's Tourneys and Campaigns... it is well appreciated sir.....

Indeed every single tournament of @Rico was a blast!
My all time favourites: CMBB Cross Of Iron for the CMX1 family and the Heraklion campaign for CMX2 series of games.

@Rico your the man! I actually thought to myself a few times, "Man this Rico dude is hardcore with all his tournies going on." It was an absolute pleasure taking part in your tournies. LMS, KOTH, and I played in Risk for a little while as a replacement. As you can tell by my posts I'm having a blast being king in KOTH, really getting into the role of a conquering king! :D If anybody else has the balls to try and take my castle then feel free to sign up in the challengers thread. My bloody guillotine is working wonderful! :D

Sorry to hear about the end of the LMS tournies, if memory serves I played in three and won two of them. Good times indeed. As for the last two, I simply missed sign ups, still curse myself for it.

Three cheers for Rico aka. The Tourney Machine! ;)

IIRC there was a tourney you were working on that was sort of using Panzer Corps graphics. Whatever happened to that?

It's still sitting there in the large "campaign ideas filing cabinet" ... looked great, but the more I developed it, turns out it was going to be way too complicated to run and administer -- also, to make it work, it would've needed complicated rules worthy of a war board game.

Thank you, your Royal Highness :)

Running LMS was getting a little stale for -- but like I said, maybe someone else can take it over from me -- it's not really very difficult ;)

Woot ! :D

I would love to run a Eastern front domination... ;) (Working on the details atm)

I second all the praise of my previous speakers - kudos to you, Rico! Very well done! :)
