The comprehensive pre-orders briefing will be posted tomorrow evening after I've had a bit more time to root around the RT scenario builder's maps and Russian OOB's to familiarise myself with the lay of the land.

Then we can rock n' roll.

Hauptmann DG is already in his frontline foxhole looking trough his binoculars and scouting for Russian movement :D

Gentlemen! I am just back from the Führerhauptquartier where I was awarded with the Ritterkreuz by the Führer himself.
The Führer is well aware that we are going to have a very hard time at the Ostfront during this summer. Nearly all the hard-hitting units and the Luftwaffe stand in the West to push the Anglo-Americans back in the Channel. They will accomplish their mission till the end of July as the Führer told me. After the truce in the West we will fight together with our victorious comrades to knock the Reds towards the Urals... The Endsieg is ours and this is for sure!

Your Hauptmann von Mehlsack

@ Bootie: the picture was taken shortly after the conference with the Führer. That's why I was craning my neck. I guess you are still jealously since the Führer didn't gave you a private audience!

@Bootie : I am sorry to report that a shave is not possible at the moment since we are in permanent combat!
No disrespect to Oberst von Bootie but if he would visit more often the frontline rather than the nightclubs of Minsk he would understand that shaving is one of our slightest problems in the moment...

This is the so called "AT Gun Neck" or "Fencejumper Neck" - a phenomenon that medics in CM have to deal with very often,
especially in matches going longer than 30 minutes. Soldiers hiding with their AT gun or jumping over a fence are ascending their necks
like swans... nobody knows why...!? ;)

And was already getting to my rolenplaying character... :(

Not for me. I'm a well diceplined warrior trained for serious combat. And we are on the Eastern front gentlemen with the enemy knocking at our doors. So drop the act and get back to your units. Our men count on us to keep them save.

Couldn't get briefing orders out due to delays caused by annoying client wanting annoying little changes and kept changing his mind! ... but I think I have a handle now on what's available in the Russian OOB's -- some important pieces of kit missing for Guards mech units like lend-lease halftracks and scout cars for instance.

Good job Rico. And yes there are some units missing but I believe this is because most Russian infantry ride on tanks into battle instead of halftracks.

I agree -- but a lot of the armoured recon units of the Guards Tank Armies used halftracks and White scout cars from this point onwards (and ride on tanks :) ) ... no biggie ... Germans ALSO can ride on tanks and StuG's as well ... which is great.

It is more than great, it is freeking awesome! :p

But the German mech. infantry doctrine was based around their halftracks. This is why they used them untill the end of the war. I'm not sure about the russian doctrine. All I know is they ride on tanks and dismount from them into battle.

If you need any help with OOB's I willing to help you out

EDIT: although I'm a German field commander.

Yes, when they actually HAD halftracks available ... at best each panzer division had ONE panzergrenadier btn with halftracks ... often more like a company.

Also, late in war, what available fuel there was prioritised for tanks and Stugs during battle.

There's doctrine... and there's reality on the battlefield.

Mostly only ONE company of a PzGrenBtl were equipped with halftracks.
Exception: PzLehrDiv and some SS-PzDiv (not SS-PzGrenDiv)
