And sometimes people even refer to a cron job that they do themselves on a regular basis - I know geeks right.

In this case @Bootie is either manually or by the use of script removing members who have not logged in some length of time - I forget how long that is.

Yeah cron job deletes members who dont log on over a 90 day period.

Three months seems harsh to me to have your account deleted.
