Wedding Anniversary

Well,
It's our 17th wedding anniversary today.

Both of us had come out of previous marriages, and neither was looking for anyone else, it just kind of happened.

We went out together for two years before getting married, and I took her back to my favourite part of the country, the Lake District, to get married - just us two and our best friends as witnesses.

When we met I was introduced to her three kids ( 6, 8 and 10 yr old boys at the time) and although I didn't have any from my previous marriage, we got along just fine.

Proudest moment of my life apart from our wedding, was when they approached me to tell me that they wanted to change their surname to mine - still brings a lump to my throat when I think about it.

We've had some tough times, but the strength of our bond has kept us together and that ain't gonna change.

My wife and I celebrated our 25th on 4/21...

Got to tell you, nothing says congrats on 25 years of marital strife...er...bliss during a pandemic like a gift pack from Omaha Steak Cimpany...

We spent $$$$ for two nights in a suite at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco 01/19.
Did I mention the $$$$? That's not likely to happen again.
Sure was nice though.

Many thanks - we had our challenges (boys will be boys), but overall the right things were instilled in them and thankfully they are all in employment and settled with partners - am already a grandad and will be again in October!!
