Just curious if anyone here has any experience with the system and had any thoughts? The following peaked my nerdy interest and I may be working from home / on some forced leave in the new year.

Cheers in advance.

You should be able to the click on the "Watch on YouTube" button in the error msg. It's just a guy playing a board game. Unsure why he put the restriction in place. :p
It's a video game manufacturer's conspiracy. They are in cahoots with social media sites. They don't want people to know there are such things as board games.

Was just reading this AAR on the game minutes before I saw your post @Ithikial and it's interesting stuff. It shows how a modern war between major powers would have casualties on par with WWI, and that's not even before commanders ask to use nukes.
The games are available as a Vassal modules and rules are available to download on the GMT website.
If your up for a game on Vassal via PBEM I'd be up for it.

Yeah I've seen that AAR as well and got more enthused. Quite a few house rules but that's to be expected. Honestly, if there is some interest I'd be interested in gaming as a group over on Vassal at some point if there's a few people that want to replace the Sunday night/day ARMA sessions with something at a bit different pace. The 1st FGM Special Forces now leads the WW3. <Shudder> I'm attracted to the rules that appear flexible enough to work across multiple theaters and love the idea of NATO and Communist Forces needing to prioritise deployments across different theaters. The political aspects such as when different nations are drawn into the conflict I also find appealing.

I think group will be key as this will keep the pace going even if the odd person can't make it. Maybe a sub-forum to keep tabs on developments and let people.

Perhaps a nice idea for you poor lot stuck in lockdowns over winter due to COVID.

@DoubleD @Bootie @Vartuoosi - Thoughts? Also @Hapless, I have a feeling this type of global warfare and chance to analyse and write essays on WW3 might be up your alley. :D
