Welcome to The Few Good Men

Thanks for visiting our club and having a look around, there is a lot to see. Why not consider becoming a member?

Valheim

I heard good things about it from some friends. But I'm not keen on playing another early access game after the fiasco of Medieval Engineers.

:p I am 25 hours in and loving it....
I also loved Medieval Engineers after 25 hours, but that was only because I assumed all the shortcomings, bugs, and lack of content would be fixed. Then one day, the developers just said "ok, that's it.. the game is done now." But it wasn't.

I've read that players have established a "body rescue squad". They will provide a team to help you enter whatever pit of hell you "died" in and recover your gear etc.

@Gnarly we want screenies and a report of some kind before we buy. (y)

I defeated boss #1 (out of the current 5) a few weeks ago, and decided to put exploration on hold, and instead focus on home.

So my original digs:

Works fine, but not much room in that little shack. And doing smithing in the rain gets old fast.

So I thought I'd improve on it with something a little more architecturally inspired, with historical merit as well... (If you floow the path in the background above, its out on that point)

Dealing with the structural limits of wood has been very challenging (in a enjoyable way)..... No iron or stone yet (I'm bronze age). Its only at 'lock-up' stage atm (still lots of work to be done)

Not to mention a sea view or two! The floor to ceiling windows were non-negotiable/

The lighting and sky views definitely make this game...

Oh, an early beginning of the current new house, that I eventually knocked down when I ran into the structural limits of wood.

100 hours in, 2nd boss beaten, and have entered the iron age.

Which has unlocked a whole bunch of building options (stone and iron-reinforced poles). So I am now experimenting with building concepts; first task - height. How high can I build with different combinations..

My base is currently a testbed of differing tower styles....

And being chased across the ocean by a sea serpent...
