DAR ACSpectre - Mini Battles

Map is small with some buildings and scattered trees in my setup zone providing some areas of cover to setup in. My forces are all oriented facing to the West.

My forces consist of:

1 Co. Infantry
2 SPW 251/1 HT's
2 MG34 HMG's
2 75mm Inf Guns

Placed my 2 Inf Guns toward the front of my setup zone both in scattered trees. Put a minimal arc and hide orders on both guns to keep them unseen for a slong as possible. I put one HT behind the bldg at the front of my set up zone and another behind the bldg at the north side of my set up zone. Put hide orders on both HT's. One Machinegun was place on the top floor of the bldg at the front of the set up zone and another on the top floor of the northern of the 2 connected bldgs at the back of the setup zone. Both MG's have hide orders. I broke the Inf into plts and placed one each in the scattered trees in the center of the setup zone, one in the scattered trees at the west side of the setup zone, and on in the woods at the rear of the setup zone. The Co commander was placed with the Plt in the scattered trees in the front of the setup zone, all Inf also has hide orders.

Chose to have all units hiding so as not to reveal their positions for as long as possible. With such a small map, the action will be fast and furious once it starts. Hoping to keep my Inf guns hidden until the enemy is very close. Perhaps I might be able to get some hits on armor at close range with them. Will try to open up with both of them at the same time in order to inflict as much damage as possible before they get taken out.

This looks like it is going to be fun. Definitely a scenario that could go either way so hopefully I will be lucky enough to snatch the initial momentum.

@AcSpectre: Thank You for starting Your DAR thread! :) I didn´t want to start one for You without Your agreement. A question - Is weather parameter clear or did You only toggle off the visualisation??? Hope I sent not the wrong parameters. :(

Weather is toggled off for this picture.

Played through the first action phase with no activity. All my units set to hide, waiting for the enemy to reveal himself.

No flags!!! The defender haven´t to wait for the attacker. He can, if he want, try to withdraw before the enemy. Or try an counter attack. Or do whatever he want. But if the attacker reaches the set up zone of the defender and can hold it till to the end the map counts as victory for the attacker.

Turn 4 and the enemy finally shows his face. Time to unleash Hell!!!!

Three carriers are smoking hulks and one more is targeted. My HT's have the forward most infantry pinned or in retreat. Looks like we have some heavier armor (Valentines) heading my way, will target them in the next orders phase. Feeling pretty good right now, but not counting my chickens just yet!

OK, AcSpectre got a minor victory. So he won 50 points and 10 prestige. He lost a gun, a HMG and a SPW.The number of his casualties is not worth mentioning. The crew of the destroyed gun is rested again but has to wait for new equipment. They aren´t available for the next battle. All injuries could been handled and his troops waiting for new orders. Headquarters wait for suggestions for medals and badges. The reinforcement situation is terrible but a commander of nearby task forces could spare a SPW250/8.

@AcSpectre: Do You want that SPW? It would cost You 50 points. It isn´t sure You could hold it for the rest of the first campaign. But it would go back to it´s commander at latest then. Depends on how the process of war goes the next time. Or You save Your points for later. Your choice.

Yes, I would like to spend the 50 points and purchase the SPW to use for the rest of this campaign. Also will my gun crew be getting Panzerschrecks and grenades?

OK and yes! You get three teams (2xLMG and 1xTank Hunters). Be careful with them! If they all die You have a useless gun without crew. And to avoid misunderstandings - the first campaign is only June 1944. The second is December 1944, third January 1945 and the fourth and last May 1945. You can not buy the SPW at the moment. You can only borrow him and that will cost You the 50 points. Should the SPW survive that battle it could be the commander in charge of the SPW agrees that You purchase that unit. But You must have enough points then.

Greetings :)

OK, sounds good.

First contact with the forces of Lighthorse. Commander AcSpectre could decide the first encounter for his own troops. The recons of the allies are almost annihilated. The battle seems to start now.

Propaganda Report: The german heroes let the Allies suffer high casualties during the tried advance into the heart of France. Allied Commander Lighthorse was unable to destroy the german resistance. The bravery and mastery of the german Landser broke the british vanity. And one more time was the german valour reason for the defeat of a overmighty enemy!!!.......

Congratulations from the HQ to a further victory! :) HQ sends You some reinforcements to strenghten Your troops. The main object for Your forces is to back-conquer the isle between the both creek arms and to hold the foe back so he can´t cross the river. Should that fail - fall back to the little forest near the forsaken estimate and consolidate with the other units. The fatherland counts on You!!! ;)

You got another 50 points and 10 prestige. So You have all in all 50 points and 20 prestige.

Common situation: We can hold the enemy back.
