Mission Objective

NASOE CCC has made contact. A small US force on patrol on the island of Saaremaa has been approached by a male who has stated and demonstrated that he has information of significant importance to the United Nations. The patrol has secured the individual and has been ordered to escort him back to FOB Utah. Our SO force is to intercept that patrol and secure the individual for extraction by NASOE personnel. Under no circumstances is this individual to reach FOB Utah.

Mission critical roles

Squad Commander -
Fire Team Lead (if numbers greater than 4) -

Confused... VIP being escorted by US soldiers to our FOB but we are to intercept and make sure this doesn't happen? ie. Kill all the US soldiers? Are we playing as Russians this time?

From my reading, it appears that NASOE doesn't want the dude to fall into American hands but rather theirs, so we get to nab him for their use. If this is the case, I would assume this would call for some finesse on our parts, e.g. disabling or blocking the vehicle, zip tying the driver and US escorts, etc. I'd be surprised if we're actually going to kill the patrol. I could be totally wrong though, that was just my interpretation of the quick brief. If my hunch is correct, bring your balaclava and don't wear any identifying insignia!

Planning on being there.

Really, your gonna get indigent. How did you aquire the SAW last week?

Perhaps someone who doesn't lead so often will take this one, with support from an experienced 2IC; Bullman, Lefty, Nathan?

Watch Part 2 of the videos I posted. :)

I just have no idea how this is done in game and partly confused about the mission brief? Our own Special Forces Command wants us to intercept a fellow US patrol and prevent them from bringing a VIP to a US base so we can take the VIP to another US base? Just wait at FOB Utah and take him off their hands there.

We could just give Bull a .50 cal, an infrared terminal and say go to town. 50/50 chance the VIP will live but will be safer for us lot in the long run than trying to hog tie a squad of US Soldiers. :p And probably the VIP will have a greater chance given our record on VIP escort missions. :D

We are Super-elite-ninja-secret-squirrel-tier-0-operators gentlemen. If the Corporate Gods tell us to kill Americans then we kill Americans.

For this campaign I've intentionally kept the mission annoucements ambiguous. Process is; the squad lead gets the details, interprets, forms his plan, informs the squad, and the squad actions. The idea is it adds immersion and hopefully the planning gives more dimension for the people that always lead. There's the age old saying, assume make an ass out of u and me :)

The world is full of grey, NASOE is not US 7th Cav, we are NASOE.

I just need a Squad Comander and a 2IC :salute:

Different TS needed this week. Details are

voice.3commandobrigade.com. I don't think a pw is needed.

In public area there are a couple of slots for other games. We will use that, if one's free.

This sounds like a lot of fun, I have Arma III but no mods -yet. I'll have to join you guys next weekend if there is an OP happening. It wasn't quite clear from the above text, are those mods required for me to be compatible with you guys or are they just suggested?

You are welcome to join. Most of the mods are required to run the mission, other than the one flagged as (optionals). I recommend http://play.withsix.com/ to manage mods. The mod list are the names exactly as they appear in playwithsix.

You will also need to setup Task Force Radio, which is the comms system. If you look in the posts for the mission, 1st Mar, I gave links to TFAR and AGM. The latest version of teamspeak works with TFAR, you can get this by Googling. It doesn't matter if it's 32 or 64bit.

For TFAR there are a lot of good guides on how to install on YouTube, again search for ARMA 3 and TFAR or task force radio and they will come up. They show you step by step where to go and what to do to setup.

AGM is a mod which simulates a greater real world interaction and medical situation. One can use self interact on any mission if you are running the mod to practice, but you can only interact with other players on MP.

For key binds, TFAR needs your team speak key to be proximity chat, most use tab, and caps is your infantry radio. Forget long range comms for the moment. Tab clashes with Agm's weapons rest so you will need to change this, most use ctrl space from a previous mod's key binding.

You can change all AGM key bindings by launching the mod, running a mission, any SP is fine, and then esc key. Top left you will see agm options bar, click and change to your hearts content. I recommend keeping as much default as possible because if you then ask a question of another player they can help. If you've changed it they can't help.
