Yesterday afternoon the motor racing world lost one of its truly great drivers and sportsmen. English Driver Dan Weldon was killed in an accident involving 15 cars on lap 11 of the Indy Vegas 300. Weldon one of the nicest guys in Motorsports dead at the age of 33.

I was watching on the TV when it happened, you just knew it was awful. One thing that interests me is that the night before the race multiple drivers stated that the way the Indy Cars were behaving on the Vegas track that in big groups something bad could happen.

Dan was the current Indy 500 Champion, also won the 500 in 2005 along with the Indy Car Championship that year, 4th in overall Indy Car victories he was considered one of the greatest in Indy Car and was a repsected for his driving talents along with being a caring and wonderful father and human being.

RIP Dan Wheldon, and prayers to the family.
