Mysterious containers spilled out of the train due to the crash. Some of them cracked open. The likely source of the infection.
We try to find out where the train came from and follow the tracks to south. Eventually we come across a switch in the tracks leading into a bunker build inside the hillside.
Not finding a way to enter the trainyard bunker, we climb the hill to check out the the old ruins on top and find a militia camp there with the militia member infected. Some of the infected are even further gone then what we've previously encountered.
We find an entrance to the underground facility and are engaged by infected and unknown soldiers. Propably remnants of the facilitys security force.
The facility was mostly evacuated and the hostile operators were there to finish destroying evidence. We were able obtain some shipping manifests.
In one room we get attacked by a head with little stick legs. You know The Thing style.
Room also contained more of that unknown substance.
We finish the sweep in the underground trainyard.
Bonus
The spookiest thing we came across during the whole mission
The boys decked out in their powered exoskeletons
Mission is to investigate a friendly outpost wiped out by unknown attackers.
Oh no! It's the AYYLMAOs!
Concord shot an ayy with an exploding shell from his shotgun, causing the ayy to fly in the air and do a magnificient cartwheel. Unfortunately I wasn't fast enough at hitting F12 while it was in the air.
We RTB but the base also comes under attack.
Later on we also fight civvies affected by an alien chemical weapon which caused them to go berserk.
Red punches a guy to death.
I guess the zombie mod adds some extra gore effects.
Double you sick bastard.
Finishing the mission with capturing a flying saucer.
There was funny not a bug, incorrectly setup up mod settings.
The Immersion Cigs mod was recently updated so the AI units now can smoke cigs too if they have them and have cigs spawned in their inventories automatically. And those settings were on by default unknown to us.
So the aliens had their inventories full of cigarattes and were smoking during the firefights.
I as the gamemaster for this mission declared that the reason for the alien invasion was that they wanted to conquer Earth for our tobacco products.
