Following on from the defence of A Luoi, we are back at Khe Sanh.
It's 22nd January and fighting has broken out across the province. This morning, a foot patrol west of the main base engaged with NVA forces. Heavy fighting broke out resulting in substantial losses on both sides. The NVA force is withdrawing west as the US force is withdrawing by helicopter.
S.O.G. MACV is to follow the retreating NVA into the jungle and harass them as they withdraw, inflicting as many casualties as possible.
We have air and artillery assets available, including Huey gunships, F4C CAS and 105mm Howitzers.
