I had the same issues but fixed them by reconnecting to the server. According to what I found online It appears to be a bug in the CBA_A3 mod.
I have disabled this mod (today) on the server for now.

I still cant get to choose missions etc. I log in as admin and I don't get any options/admin panel.
after you've logged in as admin type: #missions
That'll open the mission select menu.
What mods do I need for the server? Tried to log on but wouldn't let me on.

You need to disable your mods I believe.
DD... don't need to log on, just go to the multiplayer in ARMIII...hit remote ... enter server code... then await password.
What's the server address? I'll have a go to log on today. When I ran patrol ops last weekend I had MCC running as well, worked fine for me and let me tweak stuff a little and gives AI helicopter. Saves leaving helicopters around, which i thnk helps immersion.
I'm gonna try and look at the six thing Bootie mentions. Could we use that and have a set of mods we all use? UK and US uniform, NATO weapons, MCC to since things up if needed?

Hi DoubleD the server is set to strict mod checking which prevents cheating I think I will disable this today.
Currently the only mod I got to work (and allow us to login) was the CBA_A3, I tried installing the map pack but that might have got corrupted during upload as it doesn't seem to work.
We do need to decide on a list of mods and missions to install.
