What would be the best way to video capture a CM turn, or part of a turn, and post it to the FGM or send the link to someone?
Maybe I should say how do you capture video as opposed to the best way of capturing a video.

I use Fraps to capture the video, then Filmora9 film studio for editing and saving a file to upload to Youtube.

Yes and yes, I paid for Fraps and Filmora. I suspect any reasonably up-to-date PC with an NVIDIA card has its own capture capability, and I'm sure there are some free ones out there.

I'm not 100% certain but I believe you could do the editing within the YouTube program itself as you upload. If you're not looking to make miniature movies, you just want to upload short action clips, you don't even need a video editor.

You need a YouTube account, they're free you just sign up for one.

I use nvidia geforce experience. For a longer movie (10+ seconds) zi use youtube to host, for shorter i convert to gif using an online tool.

Edit: i'm not claiming thats the best way by the way (looks at title :geek: )

Many video cards come with their own software that includes the ability to take screenshots and videos using keyboard shortcuts.
If you have an Nvidia card, then the program is called Gforce Experience, as Blady mentioned.
For my Radeon card, the program associated with it is called Radeon ReLive.

A great tip for free editing software that I picked up from someone at FGM is OBS Studio. https://obsproject.com/
However, these days I've been using a program called Vegas Movie Studio 13, which I got on sale on Steam, of all places.
It has been easy to use and I was editing within seconds, without tutorials.

Once you have edited your movie, you export it to your computer.
Then you go to your youtube channel and go through the short process of uploading.
At the end of it, you get a link to post.

win + alt + R
to start or stop a video recording of game

Alt+F1
to take screenshot

I can't recall the default folder they save to, but you can check it or change it from within the program

Well that went easier than I thought.
Alt-Z to start the Experience Overlay
Alt-F9 to start and stop the video capture.
Alt-F1 for a screen shot.

YouTube was simple but there is a bit of a wait for the upload and then quite a few steps to do.

Thank you all for your help.
I think I'll be a bit of a video fool for awhile ;)

Awesome! Well done.
Oops, I must have had old info for the shortcuts. They might have been Windows shortcuts.
Look forward to seeing some movies. Especially in Brigade Battles! Even more interesting than screenshots. :)

Windows Movie Maker is still available for download too. Super simple.

So I tried to take an in game video the other day with the GeForce Experience and it recorded what was on my other monitor where the game wasn't playing.
The screen capture worked fine .
The video capture worked the first time I used it a couple of weeks ago.
Any clue as to what my have changed?
