Combat Mission: RISK - TURN 4

Ok, ready to rock-n-roll with CM:RISK TURN 4!!

Below the map with the latest points standings.

Some new RULES changes in effect from this turn:
1. Corps have been made substantially smaller (see the OOB's chart at bottom) to make battles more managable
2. Capital cities now generate 2PP's
3. I have decided against the suggested supply rules -- let's see how we do with the smaller Corps.

Note on status of BLUE forces in North Africa -- 4 of the Corps are disrupted after being withdrawn from the attack on Western Europe and cannot attack this turn (but defend normally)

TEAMS please move your eligible Corps, buy and place new Corps.

While the troops prepare themselves for another round of combat -- it seems like there is intense behind-the-scenes strategic discussions going on at YELLOW and GREEN Supreme HQ's ... the fate of Africa and the Americas hang in the balance.

Not aware of much diplomatic activity going on ... maybe it's every regime for itself from now on! :D

I am a bit surprised that territories can be left unoccupied. Is this move in the rules? This has quite some impact and I would have liked to know that this is possible. I never thought of a possibility as the campaign is based on the normal risk rules.

Orange abandoned NW Territory by withdrawing into Alaska -- yes, it is allowed.

They lose all PP benefits in doing so ... and if they want it back, will need to attack it again.

Here we go - - attack orders processed -- everybody's got battles to fight accept the GREY's who are taking the "Switzerland" option this turn -- no battles for them.
On the opposite end of the aggression scale ... ORANGE and GREEN making full on grabs for Asia and the Americas this turn ... YELLOW attempting to control Africa -- and BLUE having to defend all over the place!

Here are the battles:

GREEN 1: Alberta --> Alaska (Orange) -- Cargol vs DasTiger

GREEN 2: Ontario --> Quebec (Yellow) -- chain vs nathangun

GREEN 3: Peru --> Argentina (uncontested)

YELLOW 1: Egypt --> North Africa (Blue) -- Strachwitz vs Facman

ORANGE 1: China --> Siam (Blue) -- eniced73 vs Mad Mike

ORANGE 2: Siberia --> Urals (Blue) -- (automatic surrender)

ORANGE 3: Middle East --> Afghanistan (Green) DasTiger vs chain

Please assign battle commanders asap (and also let me know if there are any automatic surrenders -- Quebec and Urals are obvious candidates here ) -- I will start building scenarios this afternoon.

All scenarios files have been sent out -- attacking players @Strachwitz , @Cargol , @chain , @eniced73 and @DasTiger please start up your respective scenarios.

The BLUE Meanies forces garrisoning the URALS have decided to invoke surrender -- so the Republic of ORANGE are one step closer to dominating Asia,

The big battle to watch is the epic clash for North Africa ... I managed to build something like a desert map in CMBN :) -- I'll post a screenshot soon.

@nathangun

Here a snapshot of the "pseudo-desert" map I created for the YELLOW vs BLUE battle for North Africa (trying to add a little local flavour to the RISK battles) :)
-- I used an existing "Open Terrain" map and overlaid lots of sand and rocky terrain and added a few hills and low ridges, stripped out most of the trees.
I was going to do this using a CMFI map, but the game doesn't have any Sherman Fireflies for the Elite Armoured units.

Thanks,

The battle for N. Africa continues as the Yellows once again attack us. The preliminary bombardments have started, as have their air operations.
