Could be Right...What do you Think ?

Can't delete it...do not agree with the point at all. Written out of ignorance by a shallow and selfish thinker.

Sorry, the bloke must pass drug testing for safety reasons, the issues are not equal.
And as a Libertarian at heart, what people do in their lives is their business. There will always be those who take advantage of a situation, it's part of the equation. But I see no reason to go to the expense of testing everyone, just to catch the few.

In general I agree. But, I just think in principle that if a person is going to take benefits from the system, they should also engage in the system in good faith. Making affirmative efforts to advance in the system should be a prerequisite to receiving cash. In the example above, a person sitting home and abusing drugs should have to face a consequence. They are free to stay home and abuse drugs, but they should not have an expectation or sense of entitlement to others' hard earned income.

First of all I want a drug test for all politicans - unannounced and to every daytime possible and in non-regular intervalls. Next in row would be judges and prosecutors etc., then social workers, policemen and soldiers. If any of them don´t pass that test he should have to expect very harsh punishment(s).
Reasons: People who decide about the destiny of a folk shouldn´t be in a state of absent mind. People who decides about the fate of single people or families should be clear and keep their sanity. People who are there to help the evolution of children and youngsters should be in a state of full responsibility for their actions. People who wear weapons should know what they when have to or may to do and what the consequences of their deeds are.

AND NO ONE SHOULD GET AMNESTY OR A LOWER PENALTY BECAUSE HE TOOK DRUGS!!! Contrary he should at least punished as someone who did a crime in full awarness. Only exception would be if one was forced to take drugs.

Greetings :)

Written out of ignorance by a shallow and selfish thinker.

To clarify my statement:
1] This is written out of ignorance( and sorry if some are offended with the word, but it mean lack of knowledge)...this individual and those that think like this lack knowledge of the situations of people needing assistance from the governments, they don't know if they are just temporarily on it or on it for a long time, they do not know if the people on it have children that need the parents to provide or not. These people that hold to this thinking feel better lopping everyone into the same basket, stereo typing everyone as lazy slacker that do nothing but sit around and drink/do drugs/ and avoid any responsibilities.

2] The above proves the person who holds this view is a shallow thinker. It is easier for one not to get involved and see if they can help in a personal way. They feel they are helping by paying their taxes and this gives them the right to judge other.

3] Selfish thinker is a person that is consumed with the me syndrome, look at me I pay taxes and this gives me the rights to take away the rights of others. He/she has to take a drug test to work on an oil rig because it is a highly dangerous job and the lives of others depends on each person being of clear mind and body. This person figures that their taxes are what holds the fabric of their society together. Not thinking of the whole collective community at large contributing to the same kitty[taxes] and only a small percentage going to help the poor and hard up.

Just to clarify I belong to the Salvation Army in my town and assistance is given to many who deserve it and some that don't. It is done to provide for families even if one member of the family is an idiot drinking or doing drugs. I do not believe the whole family has to suffer because of one persons issues. I also give time volunteering at the local Federal Prison from 4 pm to 10 pm on Fridays. Providing bible studies from 4 to 7 pm the after count, 7:30 to 10 pm person counselling whether spiritual or otherwise. All for free and look forward to it every week.
I put my words into action as often as possible.

They are free to stay home and abuse drugs, but they should not have an expectation or sense of entitlement to others' hard earned income.

I agree with you here, I'm just concerned as to how we deal with it. Basically I'm for innocent until proven guilty, and for due process (wonder where I learned those concepts?). To make all citizens receiving benefits Drug Test without probable cause, goes against the grain in my opinion. Then there is the expense, to test the millions receiving benefits would be extremely expensive. How would we justify the expense, when it could cost more to utilize such a program, than the money lost to the deadbeats?

OK. You guys just do this stuff to piss me off right? You guys really don't think it OK for people to break the law, right? Please say yes.

Just for poops and giggles I Google where pot is legal:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_cannabis_by_country

It seems that that basic of all drugs is illegal just about everywhere except for the progressive areas of the US and some in Australia. I found it interesting that North Korea supposedly makes it legal. But I assume that it does that to make the citizens that much more happy to live in the Socialist Utopia of North Korea.

I don't give a damn about their "Situation" that makes it "OK". They are not lazy slackers in my book. They are people who break the law. Period. And by definition they break the law until the law gets changed. It's really simple. So with that in mind, why would any government willingly give law breaking citizens assistance? So yeah. Drug test them.
These people don't have "rights" different from other citizens, do they!?! If you get a government check it makes you immune to certain laws!?! And taxes going to law breakers (criminals by definition) is not the same as taxes going to "the poor and hard up".

The fabric of society is held together by laws and the desire of that society to actively enforce them and require ALL citizens to abide by them.

You guys are just messing with me.

Very admirable volunteer work Numberz. I salute you.

Not just yes, but Hell Yes!

On a serious note, are you aware of how the anti Hemp laws in the US were established? Here's a link to an article that can give you some insight if you didn't know. One fact left out of this article, is that Dupont had invented a new fiber during this time period, that they seriously wanted to make a profit on. This fiber's greatest competition was Hemp, the fiber was 'Nylon'. The rest is history.

http://www.collective-evolution.com/2012/12/05/how-hemp-became-illegal-the-marijuana-link/

and a few interesting facts about Hemp...

1. 80% of all textiles, fabrics, clothes, linen, drapes, bed sheets, etc., were made from hemp until the 1820s, with the introduction of the cotton gin. All schoolbooks were made from hemp or flax paper until the 1880s.

2. Benjamin Franklin owned one of the first paper mills in America, and it processed hemp. Also, the War of 1812 was fought over hemp. Napoleon wanted to cut off Moscow’s export to England.

3. Henry Ford’s first Model-T was built to run on hemp gasoline and the car itself was constructed from hemp! On his large estate, Ford was photographed among his hemp fields. The car, ‘grown from the soil,’ had hemp plastic panels whose impact strength was 10 times stronger than steel. (Popular Mechanics, 1941.)

4. Refusing to grow hemp in America during the 17th and 18th centuries was against the law! You could be jailed in Virginia for refusing to grow hemp from 1763 to 1769. You could even pay taxes with hemp in America from 1631 until the early 1800s!! (LA Times. Aug. 12, 1981.)

5. Quality paints and varnishes were made from hemp seed oil until 1937. 58,000 tons of hemp seeds were used in America for paint products in 1935. (Sherman Williams Paint Co. testimony before the U.S.Congress against the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act.)

6. For thousands of years, 90% of all ships’ sails and rope were made from hemp. The word ‘canvas’ comes from the Middle English word “canevas” which comes from the Latin word cannabis. (Webster’s New World Dictionary.)

7. In 1938, hemp was called ‘Billion Dollar Crop.’ It was the first time a cash crop had a business potential to exceed a billion dollars. (Popular Mechanics, Feb. 1938.)

8. The first crop grown in many states was hemp. 1850 was a peak year for Kentucky producing 40,000 tons. Hemp was the largest cash crop until the 20th century.

9. In 1916, the U.S. Government predicted that by the 1940s all paper would come from hemp and that no more trees need to be cut down. Government studies report that 1 acre of hemp equals 4.1 acres of trees. Plans were in the works to implement such programs. (U.S. Department of Agriculture Archives.)

10. Oldest known records of hemp farming go back 5000 years in China, although hemp industrialization probably goes back to ancient Egypt.

And I'll end with a serious question...Why is Weed/MaryJane/Pot listed as a schedule 1 drug?

Yes I was a little aware of the hemp laws (some states are changing them due to the revenue that could be generated from a "new" industry) but your post informed me more. Thank you for that!
But Mary Jane is still illegal.
