Does anyone here see any problem with this?

Congratulations Numberz and welcome to the socialist side of the world! :D You are official a conspiracy theorist, alarmist and doomsayer from now on - means the political correct orientated can name You a terrorist now. Oh, there comes the political secret police. Sorry I have to do that, Numberz! HERE, HERE HE IS! CATCH HIM - HE IS THE TERRORIST, THE TRAITOR! HELP, HELP!...

Greetings :)

Looks interesting. I´ll go into it if I have more time therefor. And I agree - left or right is of no matter. Sanity and reason is what matters. But that gets lost more and more - forced by left and right winged politicans. There is no real difference between them.

Greetings :)

Crimea votes to join Russia: 96.77% say YES

This seems a little over whelming and solid....If Quebec did this here I would say go and have fun.

Yes "the West" has a lot of butter in its head (look for example at Kosovo), but that isn't justification of the annexation of Crimea.
Some 60% of the people in Crimea are ethnic Russians. And some of them wouldn't even vote to be part of Russia. Nevertheless al,most 97% of the people chose to become a part of Russia.

But, of course, this referendum never was meant for the rest of the world. Just for Russia and Crimea.

A FB friend of mine put this together ... very apt. :)

I take offence to things like this...it tries to compare the situation to what Hitler did there. This is totally different....no one over through a legally elected govn't in Czechoslovakia before Hitler walked in! Typical western media propaganda.

Engineered annexation of a bit of a neighbouring sovereign country?... using the pretext of the fall of Ukrainian govt for a quick land grab? The technical details may be different, but essentially the same.

Next thing Putin wants Alaska back ... it was Russian at some point. :D

Seriously ... Western leader's hypocrisy no excuse for Russian move on Ukraine.
I think Putin's an opportunist who smells weakness and who knows where his plans for a "Greater Russia" or Greater Asian Union whatever... rights of ethnic Russians all a pretext for power plays.

Totally agree.

Ukrainians by overthrowing a legitimate government,as nobody claimed that Janukovich's government was illegitimate(even among the so called opposition),
opened Pandora's box.
Fortunately or unfortunately(depending from which angle you see it) EU or US cant do anything about it and Crimea is lost for Ukraine.
Now the question is will also the Eastern part of Ukraine will be annexed in Russia?
Maybe a some kind of buffer zone will be created between Ukraine and Russia in the term of an autonomous Republic including areas east of river Dnieper.
Now after all this who had won or lost:
Russia expanded its territory and now firmly controls Crimea with its very important ports and fleet and might do the same with Eastern Ukraine.
EU is establishing closer relations with Ukraine by providing financial aid in terms of loan that most probably will keep Ukraine under its influence for many years to come(this was heavily objected by Russia before the so called revolution in Ukraine)
NATO is upgrading its presence in Poland,Romania and Bulgaria by moving there troops and equipment in order to protect these countries from Russian ''aggression''
achieving like this a long term goal which was also out of the question before the crisis as it would greatly provoke Russia and nobody wanted this.
NATO is also finding a meaning of existence after the decline of the so called war on terrorism.(think, first it was cold war, then war on terrorism and now the Russian imperialism ambition)
US will provide aid, military advisers and will help Ukraine change its armament from Russian to US weapons so Ukraine will not depend on Russia for its defense(that means big money for the weapons industry).Same pattern was seen in Georgia.
And who had lost?Let me think.......
Ukraine had lost Crimea, most probably will lose also the Eastern part, which is by the way the most industrialized.
Also Russia declared that it will cancel the reduce in price of natural gas so Ukraine will pay 30% more for the imported Russian natural gas which will put the nail in the coffin of Ukraine's economy.
Ukraine will have to welcome the vultures of IMF there in order to get the much needed loan as its economy is crumbling.
So instead of the promised democracy and better life Ukraine will have to endure poverty, pain and suffering and this is because some people among the ones that now are holding the power believed in the promises of help or the assessments provided that Putin will not dare to move, that NATO is here to protect you and so on.

Well spoken, Cargol! Only thing I have to mention yet - neither Putin nor the NATO/EU etc. have a real interest in Ukraine - only in a "new" market and to have a "battlefield" where they can do their secret and merchant business. It´s a new "iron curtain" or, as You named it, a buffer zone so the enemies of old, east and west, "communism" and "capitalism" can cross swords and have someone to blame if their own work goes wrong. I´m really curious to see if one of the parts of the Ukraine claims the sole right of representation for the whole Ukraine or if the east and west powers do it a bit more underhand this time.

Greetings :)

From a different site, hope I'm wrong but I'm thinking he may be right.
It will not be much longer now. Everything Putin needs is now in place, fully combat ready and merely awaiting the final order for the invasion/liberation of eastern and southern Ukraine.

One. --Turkey has threatened to close Russian access to the Med from the Black Sea. If they do, it is WAR.

Two.-- Putin has implied he will invade Estonia to "protect" ethnic Russians. If he does, it is WAR.

Three.-- Putin is now sending his "proxies" to seize Ukraininan Navy ships. He is invading and taking over various military bases.

So far it has not led to many actual shooting incidents. That could change AT ANY MOMENT.

Four.-- The "attack" or "accident" at the armor depot is a clear indication to me things are now in motion.

Five. --The closing of the border by Russia to civilian cars is a CLEAR INDICATION to me things are in motion.

Six. --The statement that 20,000 Russian troops, one combat division with full support is on a "hair trigger" IS THE SINGLE CLEAREST INDICATION PUTIN MEANS TO INVADE/LIBERATE THE EASTERN UKRAINE.

Let me tell something about alert status and combat/training deployments, of which I have been on a few. Maintaining combat/alert status for more than 72 hours WITHOUT ACTUALLY DOING ANYTHING is incredibly difficult and not sustainable.

ERGO, the mere FACT that Putin has 20,000 troops on FULL COMBAT ALERT means he plans to use them! This is such a military no brainer that I find it beyond pathetic that anybody actually believes Russian statements about training drills. Sheesh!!!

The game is one the front burner, and not the back one. It is now INEVITABLE, IMHO, THAT PUTIN WILL INVADE/LIBERATE THE EASTERN AND SOUTHERN AREAS OF THE UKRAINE. PUTIN WILL "ACCEPT" THE REQUESTS FROM MOLDOVIA/ TRANS-WHATEVER FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION.

We will be looking at a "Ukraine" surrounding east of the Dneipper? River, south with Crimea, west with Trans? and Moldovia.

It is a done deal. Putin has won. Obama is in over his head, he's not a statesman, nor is he a leader, he's a community organizer. NATO is a farce.

And my own two cents- If anyone thinks China isn't watching closely, think again. They have been harassing both the Japanese and the Philippines trying to gain hegemony in the China Sea. If they think that the west is a paper tiger they could move as well if war develops in the European theater thereby overwhelming the response capabilities of the west. Not even going to think about the psycho in N. Korea or the Arabs in the Middle east. But if it was me , I'd see it as my chance to gang bang an opponent in disarray.

Wow! You're going from "hope I'm wrong" to "clear indication" and "inevitable" ending with some Obama and Nato bashing. You may have read to many Larry Bond novels.

RT Bert is correct...that a side though ...let's say this is so. HOW DID WE GET TO THIS SITUATION? The west has brought this on them selves, our economies are floundering and bankrupt. When this happens and the people start to wake up and notice...they will take us to war so we sheeple will not think about our problems at home.
