To blame Putins actions on the West is ludicrous. That's kind of like saying it was ok for OJ Simpson (in theory, since was he was found not guilty) to kill two people because at one time he was married to one of them.

He's a bully and delusional. And the "leader" of the free world is a man child compared to Putin. The reason for this crisis is very simple as it has been through out history. People get sick of corruption and lies ruining their lives. And you see a revolution happen because of it. And then a corrupt "power" tries to take advantage of it. They end up controlling their home media, getting the people behind them and that just emboldens the corrupt power even more. If I had the time (or desire) I would explain it in further detail.... But then some one would come along and blame it on McDonalds and their profits, a bank or George Bush which in turn would cause my blood pressure to rise.

And I agree that the post that I pasted is extreme but I also believe that it is well within the possibility of Murphy's Law.

As far as Obama goes let's look at what we do know. Last week he states that the U.S. will seize the assets of certain Russians responsible for the crises. They pull their assets out and the effect is a big nothing. He then states this week that the U.s. will not react with military force should Russia go further into the Ukraine as it would not be in the best interest of the Ukrainian people. Some damn fine poker playing Mr. President, thee old lay your cards down face up and call. Truly brilliant playing REALPOLITiCK, how can I not be impressed!
And I thought the reason that NATO was formed those many years ago to prevent Russian aggression ? That's what's so great about this site, the international perspective

Can,t argue with that, another "leader" making the Military Industrial Complex lots of money and destroying lives in the process. And you are correct that the Ukrainian people will pay the real cost no matter what happens from this point.

I'm not so sure of that. If you were to watch western news over the past 40 plus years you would understand that the term "leader of the free world" is a throw back to Cold War days. And that the quotation marks were to insinuate that someone else had said that and that I didn't necessarily agree with that. I should have put them around the whole"leader of the free world" instead of just "leader" . My apologies. But to be honest my comments were more directed at "Leader" than "free world". But I can see where that would upset you.

You said it not me. And it would be the "axis of evil" and not so much the dark side. Unless you are a Star Wars fan as I am. And if that is the case then, May The Force Be With You. And not that Dark side of the force I hope.

Speaking of Star Wars, Putin kind of reminds me a little of the Emperor. Not the wrinkly nasty Emperor; the young clean shaven one.

Interesting if true, and I'm assuming dog fight refers to aggressive maneuvering by both sides and then "painting" the target with radar lock.


The United States encouraged NATO to protect its member states few days ago, and then sent F-16 fighter jets to Poland for drills and holding joint exercises with other allies that were once Soviet branches.

Yesterday afternoon, the conflict was escalated from a political-fight to a dogfight in the air between the U.S. and Russian jets. The Finnish air force has been monitoring the situation and taking short exercises nearby American and Russian planes.


As a young lad my brother and I would play with sticks and momma would holler out the screen door "Stop it,it's all fun and games till someone pokes an eye out"
