The storm started about 2/3 of the way thru Nebraska and lasted all the way to Laramie Wyoming
Gunny loves the snow and when I let her out during a rest stop, she went nuts running thru the snow. We saw about a dozen wrecks (cars and big rigs) between Cheyenne & Laramie.

Unbelievable - it is autumn! I thought you were travelling to California - into the sun! :) Does this often happen in the United States?

Gunny looks great (and very excited *gg!)

The storm was a bit early, but not unprecedented. As the Mean Elevation of the state of Wyoming is 6,700 feet above sea level making Wyoming the second highest state just after Colorado, one can expect the weather to be a bit unpredictable. Wyoming is in the Rocky Mountains.

Your car seems to by a bit frosty.
Only on the outside!

It seems unpleasant to make the trip by motorcycle.
Must be why I didn't see a single person riding one in Wyoming.

Art on Salt Flats of Great Salt Lake.JPG
This giant piece of art, has a fence around it to protect visitors from falling debris as one of the balls has already fallen off. For perspective, the fence is at least 10 foot (3m) tall.
Gunny setting personal land speed record at Bonneville Salt Flats.JPG
As soon as I let Gunny out of the car she took off at full speed across the Salt Flats. After 2 days cooped up in the car, she was ready to run.
Gunny catching her breath at Bonneville Salt Flats.JPG
She stopped a couple of times to catch her breath and when we took off, she immediately went to sleep.

You shouldn't let Gunny play with the ball look what he did!

Gunny at the Hat Creek Overlook, looking toward Mt Lassen. She saw me looking and wanted to see what I was looking at.

I am in Yreka, Ca. for the next week, then it's down to the SF Bay Area for our 2nd Annual FGM gathering.

How is gunny at staying close ...say when a squirrel is around?

Gunny is fairly well disciplined, as it is a requirement of her Service Dog Training. Which is not to say she is not tempted and were it not for my diligence, she would bolt after any prey critter in a heartbeat. As she is a Boxer, the breed was bred to run down prey and hold it until the master arrives, so it has been a very tough lesson to get her to learn, since she is 'hardwired' to do exactly that. She reacts just like the dog in the video when I say 'Squirrell', she immediately starts looking for it. I do it to desensitize her to the idea of chasing.
