Facman & Gunny on the road to California

I thought boxers had its origin in the dogs used to fight bulls. Like the bulldog. Although extremely high energy dogs, I like them a lot. They are a very good family dog. Little too boisterous perhaps for young children.

Is the route to California from Arkansas through Wyoming the best or perhaps the most beautiful? Seems a bit longer them driving through Oklahoma etc.

Boxers: The Boxer is part of the Molosser dog group, developed in Germany in the late 19th century from the now extinct Bullenbeisser, a dog of Mastiff descent, and Bulldogs brought in from Great Britain. The Bullenbeisser had been working as a hunting dog for centuries, employed in the pursuit of bear, wild boar, and deer. Its task was to seize the prey and hold it until the hunters arrived. In later years, faster dogs were favored and a smaller Bullenbeisser was bred in Brabant, in northern Belgium. It is generally accepted that the Brabanter Bullenbeisser was a direct ancestor of today's Boxer.

I chose the northern route for a couple of reasons...
1. It is a very scenic route that I have traveled many times.
2. The weather report indicated fair weather (which turned out wrong)
3. The southern route could still be very warm this time of year (not good for Gunny, as Boxers are susceptible to the heat)

Oh yeah, one of the three best restaurants in the Bay area - that's the right place for our generals! ;)

Have fun, you few lucky men! :)

Thanks for the good info...hey you thought a weather man would be right...you have more faith in some things then I do.:D

Hey Facman
Is it possible Gunny will give you this surprise someday?

hey you thought a weather man would be right.

Hey, someone once said..."You pay your money and take your chances."

Is it possible Gunny will give you this surprise someday?

Unfortunately no. Service Dogs would be too distracted by a litter of pups to do their job. Gunny has been spayed, as are most Service Dogs for that very reason.

Beards are obligtory for this quickening? Or is just because you're pensioners and can't be bothered anymore?

The 2nd Annual Gathering of a Few Good Men was a successful event, with good food, great weather, wonderful view and excellent company.
We have agreed to do it again next year, same time same place, so if your in the neighborhood then, let us know.

In answer to BBs question, only 2 of us (mTk & Facman) are pensioners.
