Urgh... this movie which I watched on the plane home was bloody awful. The worlds most dangerous human beings nicked by Predators from Earth and dumped on an Alien planet (game reserve) so they can be hunted. Awful premise for a start and a horribly miscast Adrien Brody as a hardass black ops operative. He has this awful voice put on... a deep huskey (hardman) voice that just sounds wrong and grates on ones nerves. Its like he has been said... we want you for the role as long as you speak like Vin Diesel. Avoid at all costs.

What did you expect? Predators are about hunting and killing and that's what you get. The idea that they kidnap humans for hunting prey is interesting and opens up a lot of possibilities for future movies (I believe another one is planned). I liked it and my wife wants a female predator costume even more now! :biggrin1:

I liked it alot. Enjoyed it and thought it was back to the original Arnie stuff, no alien vs predator, that was getting old fast.

I have to agree with the thumbs up reviews. Predators isn't going to make it onto the AFI Top 100 list any time soon, but it was a fun, satisfying action flick. They went back to the basics of predators versus humans, but added the twist of putting the humans on a "game preserve" and throwing in a new, bigger, badder race of predator. I really enjoyed it a lot (but could have lived without Lawrence Fishbourne's character). And despite the "husky voice", I thought Adrian Brody did well. Who could have known that the guy who was 95 lbs in The Pianist could play a buff action hero?

I read that the creature that Lawrence Fishbournes character kills when he meets the group was the original design for the predator before it became the dreaded killer who we know today.

I know, I know. Why bother? The genre has been rung dry and there is neither need nor desire to ever see a "Predator" again. And while this movie certainly does not break any new predator ground it did (mostly) keep my attention throughout. I can't really give it the "mTk Seal of Approval" because it gets zero for originality. However, the director does a good job keeping the suspense going and the action is entertaining. If you want another Predator hunt, load this up.

I didnt mind it. I wasnt expecting too much however. I thought it was decent entertainment.
