I like the look of this.

Graviteam Tactics: Operation Star is a sequel to Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943. It’s an Eastern Front war game with solid graphics and sprawling battlefields that really emphasizes the scope of WWII tank combat. Want to step into the role of a commander in the very heart of Kharkov’s defense?

Even the model skins sometimes look as if one had 2D skins done on 3D models it has a nice look. It was a real time game, right?

Greetings :)

Looks very sexy, watching the vid clip & you see some track bashing being done by a tank crew!
I like it but like others I'm not a fan of RT, implement turn base with PBEM or for me the deal is off.

It does look interesting, and since it is on sale on Steam for less than $6 it may be worth a go if you can enjoy the real-time gameplay.

I was curious about the game. So, I did some research. I found this forum post (http://graviteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=11239.0) that provides good "getting started" information as well as numerous tutorial videos. The videos are very informative and show some of the issues with the game...so, you can get a sense of what you'll get if you buy.

Bought the game+DLC's.
What really caught my eye is that the DLC's have several cold war operations.
The same dev's also made the really fun Steel Armor:Blaze of War tank sim.

I have yet to understand why you guys don't learn to use the pause key and enjoy these wonderful games. They are gems, under appreciated, but fine works nonetheless. Yes, turn based would be nice, but I believe that starting with CMSF aren't the CM games both RT and turn based?

I have just started to explore Operation Star a few weeks ago. I think it is great game with a few technical problems. Even the UI is not such a problem, how you can often read. But a huge problem is AI for me! Especially enemy soldiers´ intelligence is weak. If you can manage basics of combat then the battles are not challenge for you. AI enemies in CM are poor also, but CM has multiplayer and I can play against humans. There is not this option in Operation Star! Missing multiplayer here is big handicap of the game. Perhaps it will come soon with just released Mius-Front. I hope....

As Rambler mentioned, Mius Front, which is the sequel to Operation Star, has just been released. I'm downloading it at the moment. Has anyone else played it yet? I've been checking out some youtube videos like this one

It looks like it has great potential and a lot of features I would love to see incorporated into CM - including campaign level gameplay. If only it had turn based play I think this would be a serious CM contender for me. Nothing against realtime, I just love playing PBEM and being able to rewind the action.
