Help CMAK 1.03 Patch

HI all, I am running CMAK 1.01, I now have the patch 1.03. How do I apply it?
It was running fine before patching attempt.
Game does not load (black screen then crash).
Running Windows Vista 64bit system. Any suggestion appreciated.

I'm just a grunt wargamer and am hopeless at techy stuff but perhaps this Vista upgrade patch from Bfront would help, I think you have to pay for it-

Thanks POS but I have never had a problem running CMAK, I just want up grade to 1.03. The above states that version 1.03 is required for the above upgrade. I cannot get the game to run after I install the patch (1.03).
I can and have reverted back to 1.01. But to play here (FGM) I need 1.03.
 
Sorry can't really help since I still play under XP. Heard once that starting your PC as administrator under Vista or 7 could help.
 
I think there are two CMAK's, a European one called the CDV version, and an American one, and there's a different 1.03 patch for each one so you have to select the right patch for your version.
PS- are you sure your CMAK is 1.01, how do you know?
And perhaps you need to patch to 1.02 before 1.03?
 
Sorry am also running XP. Another good reason for not using Vista. It will go down in history as the worst operating system ! (may be followed closely by Millenium )...
 
I can attest that the US CMAK patch will run with teh European (CDV) version - I once accidentally tried that and it worked. That's not the problem. It indeed seems to be the old VIsta problem: you patch to 1.03, which results in problems with Vista (the game doesn't run anymore) and thus you have to get the 1.04 patch. Said patch doesn't result in a different version that is incompatible with ours, it just circumnvents the Vista problems. Does that help you?
 
By the way on my laptop with Windows 7 / 64, I can't get the texts to show in the scenario screens (like list of scenarios, text of scenario, QB choices, etc...) Alt Tab to Desktop and back doesn't work. I can play turns OK but not make any setup, and this same for CMBB and CMAK. Any idea ? I looked in the BF forums but can't find the right solution !

On the main menu screen in the bottom right hand corner it says 'version 1.01 CDV'. I will confirm that I have the right patch.
Battlefronts release notes states version 1.03 includes all updates from 1.01 and 1.02.

Okay, so to recap, you patched to 1.03 but the game won't run.
You could try buying the 1.04 patch and slapping that on top to see if it makes it run.
 
It does sound like you will need the V1.04 Vista patch (the black screen sounds like a symptom) but before buying the V1.04 patch you should download the CMAK demo.
The demo is all ready V1.04 and you can see if it works or not.
 
I'm slowly losing the will to live on this issue. Purchased the 1.04 patch, followed the instructions to the letter and still the same issue. I am presently downloading the Demo as Gunner suggested.
 
I see there are two 1.03 versions, one for 'Windows version', and the other for 'CDV Retail Windows version', I'm not sure what the difference is.
Whichever you chose, maybe the file got corrupted during download, so it might be worth d/loading it again-

1.04 doesn't work? Now that's odd... In case of doubt I'd reinstall everything as well, with freshly downloaded patch files. Something can always go wrong.
 
All attemps failed. So far this is what I've done:
1, Download 1.03 patches from 4 different mirrors (CDV version and US)
2, Downdloaded CMAK demo
3, Purchased and downloaded 1.04 patch
4, Uninstalled a reinstalled numerous times
all to no avail only version working on my PC is 1.01.
Looks like I'll stick to CMBB.
Thanks for all your suggestion up to now, I will keep searching and trying different things until I find the answer.

A few more suggestions-
First, I've been Win XP Home for years, it plays every game I throw at it perfectly, so if you know anybody with a Win XP computer you could ask him to try installing CMAK on it and patching to 1.03 to see if it runs on his PC. If it does, it means your Vista is somehow to blame.

Second- do another uninstall/reinstall but this time patch to 1.02 first and then patch to 1.03 to see if doing it in steps like that works.

Third- perhaps your CMAK game disk was faulty when you bought it or has since become corrupted somehow and won't patch to 1.03.
I've got a spare CMAK disk, PM me your address and i'll pop it in the post to you if you like.

I agree I never had a problem with XP. I have an XP laptop to hand I'll try that. (that'll p*** her in doors off).
after that I'll get the young uns Win 7 laptop and give that a go. If either or both fail to upgrade we'll know my disc is corrupt. If that happens I will take POS up on his kind offer.

I got very similar problem with windows 7 om I-MAC - I think I finally succeeded with reinstalling graphics drivers and BF 1.04 patch
 
You should contact Battlefront support.
Tell them what you've done so far and ask for any suggestions.
It's odd 1.01 works and not 1.04.
