Quarter-billion-dollar stimulus grant creates just 400 jobs

In light of the above situation and this happens in all our countries, I propose that the governments take 1000 families each 6 months and give each family $1,000,000, starting with the poorest and work their way up. Only one try per family until all have had a share in this program then it starts over again. Do no other silly things like the above and see how that stimulates the economies?
Just think of the credit lines being paid down , mortgages and cars loans being paid off, new purchases being made in order to catch up with the rest of society.

Just a thought.

Human nature being what it is most people would live to the money that was given yo them and just spend it on treats, I would hope they would pay of there Mortgage on there house and be wise with the rest......Really Government should invest the funds into construction which I think would snowball into much better things, just no sense in putting people out of work, they don't pay tax's and just receive benefits, now in my book that just doesn't add up

I agree. Or spend it on a Hollywood size birthday party, an Escalade that won't start in a few years or just a good ol' giant crack rock. Every year when I write that check to the IRS I think how much better it would be if I could pick who gets the money. I would love to be able to help someone who really needs it. Not Washington who gives it to a political cronie who has a vision to start a new company with a crappy business plan.
