I really like the new military system where you have levies. The tech system has also been revamped. The interface had been changed. It’s a completely new game.
Some have complained that the update ruins playing minor nations. You can no longer “finesse” the game system to grow a minor nation easily. Most players though prefer the new system as its more historically accurate. Nations like Rome, Carthage, Egypt or Greek states were the dominant powers at the time.
Doesn’t mean you can’t play minor nations you just have to adapt to new system. Gather enough gold, wait for the opportune time to make a move and hire mercenaries is one of the suggestions made in forums.
I’m not crazy about ability to build a port anywhere that was added. Other than that I give devs credit for turning IR around.
There are some tweaks that need to be made, but all in all it’s 2 big thumbs up. I got the new Greek DLC but haven’t tried it yet as I’m busy putting the known world under the Roman boot and bleeding everyone dry...
Expecting a flood of DLC for this.
