@Rico : Will there be arty support (88mm) available for the battles?

@Dutch Grenadier : You don't have to set-up a stiff defense, just pull back if the enemy pushes to hard. Maybe we can provide arty support. I guess will pull you out of the frontline after this fight and send your unit to the northern flank to secure this up to now calm part of the front. Don't worry the staff is preparing a strong counterattack...

@Shorker : Would be desirable if you could secure the bridgehead, but not at all costs. We hope to provide arty support. Try to preserve your StuG...

88's can provide 2x batteries of fire support for battles ... so two separate fire missions, one for each battle, or two for one battle. -- quality will be GREEN, as crews are trained as Flak crews primarily. :)

Abt. DG will have a spotter, Gruppe Shorker will have to use his unit CO.

So, @Mehlsack let me know what you want to do with arty support assignments so I can add them to the scenarios.

How long does it take to dig a foxhole?
 
As a former infantry men I can tell you that a well trained (single) infantrymen can dig a foxhole or manhole within an hour.
There are 4 foxholes each so with a squad that would be done in an small hour per squad.

Also you would have the lighter version of a foxhole and that would be dug within 20min.

Ok, seeing that you have Russians hot on your tail, I'll give you a a limited number of foxholes. Also, you're getting a battery of 88's in fire support (they're a bit green at this, being Flak troops and all that ... but every little bit helps )

Indeed it wont help much but it is some more cover then open ground.
