Good wishes from me for Your father and Your family, Shane! Hope he recovers soon and will have still a lot more happy time with You!

Greetings

Thanks guys.... Im back. Drained emotionally but back. Dads still fighting and I have booked a flight for the 9th August to go and hopefully see him again. Saying goodbye this morning nearly broke me.
The things we have to do in this life can be hard, more so when the family are a distance, are you very close to your Dad ? Think of the Good Times Shane shared with your Dad & Family

Me and my Dad are very close which makes it so upsetting. He used to be such a strong robust opinionated man now he can barely raise a whisper and is practically incapacitated and the drugs make him talk giberrish some times. Really hard to deal with. We have had a hell of a lot of good times and we sat up until 0730 Sunday morning reminiscing... well me speaking and him listening and I could see the twinkle in his eye. Im glad I have had a full fulfilling life with my father but saying goodbye will be hard... how the hell do you cope with something like that. I know I will cope but the thought scares the crap out of me. Anyways sorry for going of tangent in this thread.... time to go and do a member cull. :)

Don´t worry mate, all of US are humans and can know how far all of US are fragile machines. Many of US will be like your father one day and thx god he have a son caring and with him!

It's all part of of life, but tough to get through. Lost my dad very suddenly 21 years ago when he died in car accident ... found out about it when a pair of cops rang my doorbell at 2 o'clock in the morning.
Not sure which is harder ...
I agree with mTk ... one does get through it and the "life goes on" is a bit of a cliche, but it's true ... you say goodbye and mourn the passing and carry on for the sake of the living, your family and loved ones.
