Truman was the first President who actually fought in a war (WWI).
Some might argue that George Washington fought in a war. And I believe Andrew Jackson fought at the Battle of New Orleans against the British in the War or 1812. Those are just the two examples that came to me quickly.
Yeah, I guess I read it as more of a grunt in the trenches and front line kind of guy.
There was also Teddy Roosevelt. Bully.
