Map of 12,703 battles fought since 2500 B.C.

Very interesting. And what a surpise to see most (recorded?) battle locations in Western Europe. Poor Belgium. Can't find the parameters which battles are included and which not.
 
Nice. It´s a bit sloppy though if you zoom in. The Battle of Aspern& Essling (1809) is on the wrong side of the danube.
 
Its rubbish - it includes events that aren't real wars or conflicts - just a sloppy engine picking out words like battle or operation from headlines regardless of context. Shame really. maybe one day someone will do it properly.
