Question 361: Who am I?(Dr. Bernhard Reddemann)

There was no special relation to Verdun.

hint: I belonged to an elite unit.

I am a German infantry officer who fought in WW1 mostly at the Western Front.
I received medals (not the Pour le Merit) and a recognition of some sort.
I did not attain the rank of general.
I was born in Berlin.
I died a natural death before 1939.

Time for the next hint: I helped to develop a new weapon and its tactic.
