Welcome to The Few Good Men

Thanks for visiting our club and having a look around, there is a lot to see. Why not consider becoming a member?

See the Problem

If I´m honest that isn´t funny but true. I don´t know if that is in other countries as well but here if the average of a written test is too low - another calculation table is used and the whole grades average is raised so far that all or the greater part of the pupils has at least passed the test. So one avoid a lot of "problems" on first sight. And the parents of the "Today" picture are only one of them.

Greetings :)

And then we end up with Kids who don't know a lot ......I Would say the article shown indicates just how much
the teachers rights of discipline have been taken away from them, Plus the parents believe there child is
a saint and can do nothing wrong, Not all parents of course..........In my school Days ( Yes I did go to School LOL ) I would get a hiding from my father if I did any thing wrong at school

Yep, that I can see almost on daily basis and in many ways - sadly. :( For example - The other day two teens about 13 or 14 years old came to our gym to ask something. Both smoked and had a way to speak I had to cry inwardly. One of them had a beer bottle in his hand. As we (me and another trainer) asked them if they wanted to do something for themselfs by doing some sports with us they blocked and vanished instantly.
Same problem with the most of the footballers (teens) what come to the other place where we train. Big mouths - smoking and drinking - but at least they do some sports. No one of them can articulate a clean and respectful sentence. It´s a shame. And as teacher and citizen, if You dare try to educate the little brats, You have to calculate with insults and even a charge.
Before a few days I met a senior teacher who is member of another club where I´m a member too. He told me it is thought to cancel history at schools in the classes 5 until 7. Instead they should "learn" something that reminds me strongly an our fine "socialist" social studies. I have to investigate a bit deeper yet. One can´t almost not believe what cretinism is made by whoever is in charge of that.

Greetings :)

P.S.: Even it may have been harder to Your time at school I could imagine it was better to the same time. I had the luck to have good teachers and a demanding school system - at least to east german times. The only real nonsense was the political "education". But almost all of our teachers were hard but fair. And that even they were in the party.

It is sort of reassuring that other countries are suffering the same issues, but also very sad that as societies we are travelling down a road that will be hard to find our way back from, and hopefully people will comeback from it eventually.

Because I am now 'old' I always hope that is the issue, it is simply how we understand now that we are older and wiser, but I am afraid we have all come to value our selves too highly compared to the generations before us. In the UK we had a political idea that took the blame for that in the 70s and 80s now it seems endemic through our societies, and as problems mount abroad I doubt so many will rise to help as those previous generations had too.
