Syrian Civil War: Assault on Base 46

Downloaded and installed... uniforms look good. Had a look at the scenario quickly to check the uniform mods... dont ya know I wish we had a building mod to make the building look a lot less like a middle eastern mans residence in central London... LOL

Yeah, at first i also thought that it doesnt fit into a middle eastern scenario, but apparently that area really does looks like that. Lots of swimming pools, large gardes and villas. Rich people live there. Check out the satelite images of that area:

Do you think i should change the appearance of the buildings of the Officers Residences and try to make them look a little more middle eastern?

Here is another Update:

- Corrected some windows and doors of some buildings for the purpose of making them look better, gameplay is not affected.

- Corrected Red (FSA) set up zones by a few meters.

- Corrected friendly direction setting for the SAA. Now the SAAs artillery is actually firing from the East (the direction of Aleppo), as mentioned in the briefing.

- Corrected the textures of a few action spots.

- Corrected the walls of two fields on the south western edge of the map so they can now be used by vehicles (previously there were no entrances to those fields).

The following changes only affect the H2H version of this scenario wich i am currently testing in a PBEM with Schmoly War:

- Number of Red ATGM teams reduced from 2 to 1 in order to give the SAA player more freedom to manouver his tanks.

- The SAAs airsupport arrival span was changed from beeing between turn 35 and 65 to turn 30 and 50.

I would apreciate it if someone could run another test of the latest version of the H2H scenario. It seems to work surprisingly well H2H, but balancing still needs a bit of fine tuning.

Update:

- The SAAs airsupport arrival span was changed from beeing between turn 30 and 50 to turn 30 and 45. (only in H2H version)

Any new results, Bootie? If you started playing already, how are things going?

I am now 45 turns in my PBEM with Schmoly War and i think the H2H version is balanced pretty good. Nothing has been decided yet and both sides, although having suffered significant casualties during the incedibly hard fighting, can still achieve a Minor Victory. I dont think Schmoly War is going to be able to launch a counterattack (although i am seriously afraid of him making such a daring move) and i am probably not going to able to capture more than 1 or 2 of the remaining 5 occupy objectives.

The H2H test with Schmoly War ended yesterday after 62 turns of continous hard fighting with a minor victory for the SAA. Both sides forces were completely exhausted at the end and we did agree on a cease fire. The scenario did work surprisingly well H2H IMO.

After making a few adjustments, I uploaded the final H2H version to the Repository. The file can be obtained here:

If you want to i ll send you the file Bootie so you can upload it to the FGM server.

The Red vs. AI version is still beeing tested and will be uploaded to the Repository once testing is finished.

Yes, there is a single player (Red vs. Blue AI) version and i would happy if you could test it. Right now i have only tested it myself, so it would be good to know what you think about difficulty/enjoyment. I want the mission to be very challenging but at the same time it should at least be possible to win for the player. I sent you an email.

@agusto Im playing h2h with this great work with Bill, match is posted in CMSF forum. using CIvil war skins also!

Great that there is some interest in this scenario. I would be very interested in your (and ideally your opponents too) opinion on balancing.

BTW Bootie i sent you the files so you can upload them to the FGM dl section. Also, please move this thread to the completed works section. Thanks in advance!
