Meanwhile the US media got our geography all wrong... (I'm front Perth by the way - those search planes were departing from a nearby air force base here).

Yeah we're not in Tasmania.. though there is a small country town there called Perth.

Port Hedland isn't out capital... It's a red dust bowl mining town.

And our Prime Minister isn't called John Abbott.

Rant: Yeah you know all those stereotypes of American's being thicker than two planks with a shit education system. Here's the evidence above. I mean you don't even have to study geography anymore, nobody in US media does a quick check on GoogleMaps?

oh that is ridiculous.....

That news outfit is the unofficial mouthpiece for the Republican Party, and they are known for not considering facts to be of any importance.

Some of us call them by their more accurate moniker...Fake News...

Well, news here has just confirmed that the plane went down in the Southern Indian Ocean .. if they find any part of it , it will be at between 3000m to 7000m (yep 7000) below sea level... 7kms! .. poor buggers....

Don't worry, know quite a few locals here that are fans of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. ;)

I'm sure facman considers Colbert and Stewart as the cable equivalent of 60 Minutes.

.

Nah, I recognize them for what they are, satirical comedians. Though it is saddening to see them get the news right, when some for profit TV stations can't, talk about dumbing down.

Not getting any better. That's actually a little tourist spot called Shark Bay.

@Facman
This one is from CNN. Which is known as the Clinton News Network and spews the blather, race baiting, lies of the Democratic party.
It's great how we can take the most simple F %@*ing news story and turn it into a political American Republican bashing topic.

And I also find it amazing that we can't seem to use Google Earth. Especially since in was completely uneducated American idiots that created the damn thing. Not to mention that some other stupid American created the operating system, hardware and every other piece of a damn computer piece known to man.

Are you sure about that? It wasn't some guy from India, China or Japan? :p

I'm speaking of the design. Not the manufacturing of such.
Typically when an economy becomes advanced, manufacturing (lower paying wage jobs) is farmed out to less developed countries. As the wages eventually increase in those countries over time (at least theoretically) the manufacturing will go back to the more advanced economy as wages become relatively equal or other costs make them equal. The auto industry is a good example of that. In the 70-80s many foreign manufacturers shipped their cars from Japan to the other countries where they were sold. Now almost all auto manufacturers produce closer to their base of sales. I think every major auto manufacturer has a facility in my country.

So what I was speaking about was the fact that the design of these items (which is where the real money and expertise is ) and many other items were created by a bunch of stupid, fat, lazy, uneducated Americans. The actual construction of said items were done in a nasty, stinky, sweat shop in south east Asia by a bunch of exploited children by a bunch of profit hungry bastards. Republican bastards. Got to add the Republicans part.

It's interesting to see that some of the computer manufacturing is coming back to the US. The new Mac Pro from Apple is manufactured in the US and it is rumored that the iPhone will be in a few years.
