Flowers don't work with my wife either.. she has the Black thumb of death for any plant.. has even managed to kill a cactus... twice...

LMAO...glad to see I am not the only one that notice things like this.
The running joke here is... the nick name for my wife in regards to plants is Mortisha (from the Adams Family) ...as soon a a plant blossoms around here she cuts them off, why one would ask and I did once. To make it thicken and blossom more?wtf
