Two versions to be released in North America next year with slight differences.

SEGA of America announced that the two versions, one Standard and one Limited Edition, will be released March 15th, 2011. The differences in the two versions is as follows:

* Standard Edition - Core SHOGUN 2 experience.
* Limited Edition - Includes a unique playable faction known as the Hattori Clan, an additional historical battle scenario called "Nagashino" and a complete set of armor for your online avatar along with some XP to spend on your characte
 
Hm... Maybe I'm gonna get me the Limited Edition. But what's this talk about an online avatar and XP...?
 
Bought the RTW Gold Edition a couple of years ago. Liked it, but thought the battles were to easy to win, so put the game away. The started to play again when on holiday and now I am hooked (again). I know the grahics are not as good, as the newer versions, but I just love to beat the Romans !!

If you find battles too easy, load the Rome Total Realism Platinum mod and play on difficult...
 
To tread further on the path of a dirty mind: it even has "sur" in front of it..... So they've done it before..

Not only Greek hoplites but one of the factions is Sparta so you could get totally into "the swing" of things.
 
Try the Darth Ultimate Mod for Total War Empire, totally improves the game a 1000%.
 
Empire Total War is the only lousy game of the series, I just don't play it...lol
 
I like it very much. From what I can tell they made everything right and imporved things where needed (compared to the first part - I do NOT compare Shogun 2 to the other TW games!). As good as pre-ordered! :biggrin1:
 
Just ordered my copy from Amazon... goodie goodie. Will soon be on my HD near its older brothers (Rome TW + BI (with Total Realism Platinum mod) Medieval 2 + Kingdoms (with Stainless Steel 6.3 mod) and Napoleon TW ( with Toon's All in One mod).
All reviews state it's the best of the series. Anyone else is in ?

Can't believe nobody else is getting into this fantastic strategy game ?
 
Been playing it for a while now, online (with my online clan) and offline (currently with Date) with mixed results. :biggrin1:

It's VERY addictive and the general "feel" (some called it the "character" of teh game) is much better than MTW or RTW; in addition they added the improvements of the latest TW games and improved additional features like the performance. I wonder how they'll be able to top it, though...
 
I think with the whole series I have a few years of gaming ahead... lol I still have some sides I didn't play yet in RTW/BI, Medieval2 and Napoleon...
 
Yeah ! It's arrived in my letterbox this morning while I was in the woods making pics. Am at work tonight so will install and will make a report asap. (It's a little complicated, because my gaming rig is not on internet, so I have to go to a friend's place, hook my rig to his internet and install with Steam. Once intalled it runs offline I hope like Napoleon TW did...)
