This is a series about German soldiers on the Eastern front. I watched these briefly on youtube since I want to to buy the DVD box.

Has anyone seen these already? It looks really interesting.

I'm afraid not. It is subtitled do. But it is also beter to watch this in the German language just for the historic feeling. I personaly hate Germans who speak with a fake English/German accent in a movie.

There's some good bitsand overall very well done ... but some outrageous coincidences in the storyline ... how amongst millions of troops on the Ostfront, the main characters keep running into each other...LOL

Although this seems indeed impossible I can tell you that during all 3 my deployments I ran into my old buddy from basic training. And I've been deployed 2x in Bosnia and once in Afghanistan.

I think the scale of the Ostfront with at it's peak of about 5 million troops and support elements ... and not once ... but several times ... but give it a go

I was disappointed by this series. Very little combat, mostly romantic melodrama - a common occurrence these days in WWII films. We need a real German Band of Brothers featuring the Fallschirmjager and no moralistic tone running throughout the whole thing.
