Using the Z Bee Mod Manager

I believe as of 7/27/13 the most recent version is 1.4.
Download from the BattleFront Repository.

This is assuming you already have your 'z' folder set up and you have your mods stored in a folder by themselves.

1. install and run the mod manager. Click on 'set up paths'.
2. Now you must tell the manager where you have your mods folder. Click on 'browse' and navigate to your folder.
3. Last 'save path'.

4. Now you must tell the manager where your 'z' folder is. Click on the 'browse button' and find your 'z' folder location.
5. Same drill. Once you have the path click on 'save path'.

6. Click on the Arrows.
7. This will bring up all mods that are listed in your mod folder in which you pointed the manager to in the last step. Make sure that your mods are extracted. The manager cannot extract the files for you. Select the mod that you wish to install.
8. Once selected click on the 'add' button.

9. Once the mod is added you can select it in the manage mods window.
10. Simply click on the 'activate mod' button and the mod will be installed until you come back into the manager and decide to uninstall.

Some people think this is complicated? I think it is pretty easy. I basically just touched on installing mods which can be used for many other games too. I use this for Theatre of War, The CM1 games, and CMSF/CMA. It has other functions that are useful but I will let you explore them on your own. The buttons are pretty self explanatory. Hope this helps.

You won't technically need to reinstall it again. In the directory that z-bee's mod manager gets installed (C:\Program Files (x86)\zBee14 on my machine) will be a file called "z-Bee 1.4 CMSF Mod Manager.accdr". The mod manager is just a microsoft access database, so if you make a copy of this file you can set the second copy up for CMBN, each file is a completely separate database(making each file a completely separate mod manager). This can be done as many times as you want, one for each CM game. I just renamed the copies to what game I was going to use that file for then setup an icon for it.

Edit- forgot to add that the copy will have the settings saved from the original file as well as the mods installed. The directories you will need to change first, then for the mods you can deactivate them each, then remove them from the mod list. Without changing the directories first you'll deactivate the mods in CMSF, if you change the directories first then deactivate a mod it'll say that the mod wasn't found in the z folder(this is what we want to see)
advanced computer user - you can open z-Bee14CMSFModManager.msi (the install file for the mod manager) using 7-zip and it'll have the original database file, which can then be extracted where you want

Well, yeah. A bit complicated. But more then that, IMHO, I just think it is a bit unnecessary.

Thank you very much for the informations eniced. I will try this tool. Seems like this tool is quite handy. I am changing a lot in my Z folder, and alhough this not an difficult task it is a bit inconvienient to switch forth and back through different folders and manually copying that stuff. Let alone finding the one mod or file I need

. This one could help me managing mods.

Just FYI here is another one that I have used and still have installed. This is an instruct as I posted above. I also googled it and it looks like some people have actually posted video tutorials on setting up. JSGME will tell you if you try to install a mod that conflicts with another. Pretty nice feature just in case you do not want to overwrite files from a mod you are using.
