The Walrus-class submarines are considered as one of the world's most advanced non-nuclear attack submarines and is the only submarine class currently in operation in the Royal Netherlands Navy.-
They have been in use since 1990 and are all named after sea mammals.-

Beam: 8,40 meters
Draft: 6,6 meters
Displacement: 2350 tons (surfaced) / 2650 tons (submerged)
Propulsion: diesel-electric
3 SEMT-Pielstick diesels / 1 HOLEC electric-motor / 1 shaft / 1 propeller (6 blades)
Speed: 13 knots (surfaced) / 20 knots (submerged)
Crew: 50-55
