Want a break from CM gaming? Chess anyone?

Some times we need a break from CM to refresh our minds etc. What better way then to play something different. like CHESS.

I am wondering if there is interest in having a side area for chess.
I started back at chess.com and have got the bug again.
I have talked with Nathangun an old hand at it and he is in ...The idea is this I can create a team/group called The Few Good Men and it could be exclusive to our club or open to any member of a club like our or totally open what ever you guy desire. Games can be played there and we could have our own standings here at FGM.
If interested and if you have ideas please post below.

Generally I´m interested! Have to look how it could fit in all the other things I have to do.

My thoughts are not to make this time consuming. There are defaults that can be set as to turn return times. Most games I play are set at a 3 days turn rate. That way if I miss a day I am not in trouble of having to loose the game due to time restraints.
 
OK At Chess.com I have Created "The Few Good Men" Chess team/group. At present for our members only.

A PM will be sent to each that has expressed interest so far.

All one has to do is sign in ...click on this link below and your on your way, note I have a referral ID. if you sign up and they ask were you referred then type this in please. It will help with the cost of my membership that made this possible.
Chess.com is a free site to play chess on, you DO NOT have to pay anything unless you want to avail yourself to the added features which are to many to list here. Even as a free member you have access some of those features but in a limited way.

Once your signed up as a member the seek out the group/team The Few Good Men and join it.
I will send offers of befriending each person as the join the group. This will help in tracking each other.
Do not limit yourself to just playing our own guys, you are free to do as you wish and the more you play the better you get...so they say. :rolleyes:

There was no referrring to anything where I could type in the ID of You. :( But I have my account. My nick was already in use so my new one is "Sempai2010".

I haven't played Chess since 1986 or was it 1886... Well anyway it has been a while... Chess is the game with a Pawn right... lol... Or is that marriage as my Wife calls me a Pawn... lol

I signed up, not sure for the next month how much time I can devote, but I can see meself slowly easin into it...

Ok guys I have stickied a thread in the General Gaming Discussion. This will make it easier for me to find and keep an eye on things as they develop.

We also have a revolving banner on the front page of FGM.

Great news im a regular chess player and i play in my local team. i have run my teams group in Chess com(www.chess.com/groups/view/skakistiki-epikoinonia-irakliou-attikis)but its inactive the last 2-3 years because in the most of our games the opponents cheated with computer assistance so we decided to cancel the group.Individual some of the guys appears there.
I will join in and if you want any help let me know

WOW thanks ioannis3 welcome to the club ...like anything if there are cheater out there ...I have not run into them and I can say this FGM club doesnot have any that I am a wear of. We are located in The Gaming Discussion section -subsection FGM Chess

Don't have to drop out...just drop in once and while to play if you like. It is to be a place to change things up a bit.
Have you tried the tactics trainer? I know it is frustrating if you new at it or have not grasped the basic concepts. Chess.com does have Basic lesson trainer and I review it once in a while so I don't forget the concepts. This gives me some ideas...about putting basic chess Ideas here at FGM .
