What is Panzer Corps?

I am thinking of picking this up this week (I loved Panzer General back in the day). Should I pick up the add ons or are those things you can pick up in the future (wasn't sure how much the add ons added to the game scenario wise).
 
Need a little help/suggestion. Has anyone added any mods to this besides me? The mods are nothing more than skins but they provide some serious eye candy.

I've easily re-installed all of them, except the "Panzer Corps Full Historical Art Mod 1.06."(29MB) I had it in before the Slitherine recent server crash, which caused me to have to reinstall the game. All the mods went back in just fine except this one and I just cannot figure out why not.
 
I just picked it up. I am now excited to play this game again!

This game has gotten my interest before. I still vividly remember the Panzer General games from back at high school (gosh.. that long already!) and I played those a ton.
Does PC also have the small battle windows in the top of the screen where you could see live action casualties when you attack a unit like you got in PG1? I loved the effect. :)

As far as the purchase goes; does it come in some bundle with several addons included for a discount or do you need to buy it all seperately?
 
Sounds like a really great game, I might have to dl it soon.
 
Alas, since my IP adress is in Afghansitan, the company will not allow a download to a "sanctioned" nation..... not sure what State Secrets is in the game, but I am going to have to wait until I get back to the US to get it.
 
The Afrika Korp version has come out. A seperate game at $19.99 US for download only.
