Zone Wars - Round One

The exit zone has caught a few people out and I might remove them for the next round.

I originally thought of Exit zones when I was toying with the idea of rolling over losses from Zone to Zone. I won't bore you with all the details.

I thought rolling over losses would be an admin headache, so dropped the idea. Though now, from something I read on the BFC forums, I can see how to do it with just a small headache :)

I kept the Exit zones in primarily to keep the action in the Zone.

Now I know how Exit Zones work. Although I play CMBN for a long time Exit Zones were seldom part of my gaming experience ant thought they just come into play at or near the end. Sometimes reading in the manual isn`t such a bad idea :)

I almost setup in the Exit Zone but caught on in time. I thought using the exit zone was an excellent idea though. Fortunately I had played a scenario not that long ago where my British Para's needed to exit. It's a lot different than CM1. Strachwitz, it must have really freaked you out when the guys started flashing and then disappeared. I wondered where your infantry were. I thought there had to be a small army in the trenches on your right.

This gave me palpitations! I wouldn't put it past myself to make such a mistake. So I had to check, and can confirm the Exit is outside the setup area. *Phew*

@Underfire Hang Fire (Defence) Vs Strachwitz (Attacker) Defence wins. Thanks for the game @Strachwitz!

I was wondering how many of the Defensive Wins were against the Americans/British?

I lost defending against the Americans but won attacking as the British.

@Gunner
Five players have chosen to use British forces.
Of the five wins, so far, four were US attacks and one British.
Of the eight losses, six were US and two British.

Hi guys,
Can you let me know how many turns you have left and estimated end date please.

@Lt. Smash
Hello Lt. As you probably know Jody is still in limbo with his PC and CM. Can you send me an invite to your dropbox and I'll finish off the battle with you.
Cheers.

We have 4 turns left,it has been 5 days since i ve send my turn

Just for you info guys, my video AAR's 002 and 003 are my first two games in this tourney.

Also, @Cargol and I have 3 minutes left. Almost there...and the delay is totally my fault. Work has been killing me the last 6 to 8 weeks.

@Lt. Smash That's ok. I suspect I'm being impatient to get Round Two started. Anyway, invite accepted and the battle is rolling.

@Johnsy I've watched parts 1-3 of AAR2. Really enjoying it. You've also opened my eyes on an extra use of the 'quick' command.

Richard 'The Pom' ;)

Hi johnsy thank you for making a AAR from our game.I believe that seeing the game through your eyes i can understand better some of my decisions.

Underfire because of the exit zone issue(i was one of them losing by accident a Armored car) i think perhaps its better to mark the areas with an unsurpassed river.
And in my game as attacker i dominated in the entirely area and still he had a couple of living soldiers i suspect that they are retreat in the exit zone.Perhaps in future games that the win will be a matter of only a handful dead or living soldiers this will be a problem.
Just some thoughts
