[CMRT] Combat Diary Campaign 3: Kompanie of Lions

Kompanie of Lions is the third campaign in the Combat Diary series. It is designed for the latest version of CMRT with all the modules.

The campaign follows the 3.Kompanie, 21st Panzergrenadier Regiment in action along the San River in southeastern Poland during July of 1944. You take the role of Hauptmann Gunther Schmidt and must guide your Kompanie through the heavy fighting during the Russian summer offensive, Operation Bagration. You are in command, and your decisions and strategy will determine the survival of your Kompanie and your Zug commanders.

To follow Hauptmann Schmidts diary entries please read the designer notes for each mission.

Each HQ element has bounty points to the enemy. Hauptmann Schmidt carries a bounty of 2000pts so his death will effectively end the mission. Each Zug HQ carries a bounty of 400pts each, so while their loss may not result in defeat, it will add to the difficulty of being successful.

So as commander, you will be faced with making decisions that for the mission to be successful, you will be putting these men in harms way. You will be faced with the consequences of your actions.

The idea of this campaign is for you to be immersed at a personal level with your men, to feel their loss and their success, as you get down in the trenches with them.

In the first mission each Zug commander is named. These men have been with Hauptmann Schmidt for months and they are experienced. As the campaign progresses I have removed the names as if one gets killed, it would be odd to have the same name appear in the next mission. I recommend keeping track through each mission on the a piece of paper so you know who has survived as the campaign continues.

The Kompanie is reasonably unexperienced, with new troops being rushed to the front, but as the campaign progresses their experience will increase.

There will be support units throughout the campaign but for the most part the missions are company level affairs.

The units and locations are historical, but the campaign as a whole should be considered semi-historical.

The missions are a variety of offensive, defensive and meeting engagements.

The maps are heavily modified quick battle or master maps. Mission 4 uses Umlauts excellent Bitvagorod map, which I modified to fit the needs of the scenario. Please read the Mission Briefing for this scenario for further details. Please remove any Flavor Object mods from your z folder while playing this mission as they may conflict with the flavor objects I have in the mod folder.

Mods:

The mod folder included has all the mods needed for the campaign and they are mod tagged so they should not cause any issues. The UI is modified for the correct unit insignias as well. All credit goes to the creators of the mods used.
