This is still and early access game, so there's that. And to turn you off further it's just a little indie, text-based RPG. And it is perma-death so no scum saving.
However, it's only $8 and I've already got my money's worth. Also, it is extremely addictive!
You start out as a basic Legionaire and through training of all sorts and surviving combat you will improve...right up to the point you die and have to start over. During the game you will face many situations where you are required to give an answer. Answers WILL affect your stats, good or bad.
When you start over you are awarded points to spend to improve your character at the start such as upgrading stats, buying armor & weapons, etc. How many points you get depends on your previous best performance.
Yes, it can get repetitive, but you can skip most of the story monologue if you've heard it before and get on the the hacking and slashing.
Great beer & pretzels fun if you have and hour or two.
I don't know how he does it because The Historical Wargamer is clearly not very good at this game yet. However, he ends up doing surprisingly well! I hate that.
