RECONQUISTA -- FOG: Medieval 1v1 Campaign

We move on to the Muslim Impulse of Turn 8.

The Almoravids have now taken control of all the Muslim provinces -- so both Muslim armies are now Almoravid -- and the great counter attack begins, to give some breathing space around GRANADA.

Battle 1: TOLEDO -- Almoravids vs Castile-Leon -- this is a Garrison Battle (Castile forces auto-selected)

Battle 2: MURCIA -- Almoravids vs Aragon -- this is a Garrison Battle (Aragon forces auto-selected)

That last campaign turn was a bitter one for the Christians. Now we're on a back foot and need to resist the counter-attack. Faith will prevail!

Yep, the "Chiquichops Tortoise" in MURCIA did its job ... was basically a giant ambush set up, into which I refused to walk into, so we ended up only fighting on the edges.... battle ended up in a Draw.

The other battle in TOLEDO ended in a Minor Muslim Defeat.

TURN 12 -- Christian Impulse

This means that both TOLEDO and MURCIA are under Muslim SIEGE -- with Christian side having ONE Intitiative point to counter-attack with.

Over to Don @chiquichops .

Had it a few years ago and this time is not even close to being as bad but it's still not nice. A strange flu-like illness with particular symptoms. Pirola strain is lots of sneezing at first, mad headache and night fever (not the Travolta type)

Wish you all the best for your recovery!

In what ended up as an incredibly brutal, attritional battle, @chiquichops finally prevailed by the narrowest 62 - 59% margin, securing a Minor Victory, placing BAJADOZ under SIEGE.

The Siege Rolls also provided some good fortune for the Christian side:
TOLEDO: die roll: 5 --> no effect, siege continues
MURCIA: die roll: 8 --> siege broken off

TURN 9, Muslim Impulse:

BAJADOZ and TOLEDO sieges continue.

Muslim Army attacks MURCIA again, to gain some breathing room around GRANADA (which is the Christian's final victory objective)

The TURN 9 Muslim Impulse has ended with @chiquichops inflicting Muslim Minor Defeat in MURCIA.

The ongoing SIEGE ROLLS resulted in:
1. Portuguese Siege of BAJADOZ -- die roll: 6 -- no effect, siege continues.
2. Muslim Siege of TOLEDO -- die roll: 4 -- Success -- > switches to Muslim control

TURN 10: Christian Impulse

Christian has no Initiative Points, so cannot launch any attacks.

Muslim side has ONE Initiative Point from capturing TOLEDO.

The ongoing SIEGE ROLLS resulted in:
1. Portuguese Siege of BAJADOZ -- die roll: 2 --> Success -- > switches to Portuguese control
2. Muslim Siege of MURCIA -- die roll: 2 --> Success -- > switches to Muslim control

Both sides earn ONE additional Initiative Point.

Nice. There's a good campaign going on here, with a bit of to and fro. The initiative rules were a great addition.
Let's get to it!

After a pair of intense battles, the Almoravid Muslim armies are fighting their way back.

A Major Victory against the Portuguese captures BAJADOZ.

This is followed by a brutal Minor Victory against the Aragonese in VALENCIA.

Christian side has ONE Initiative Point.

Where will Don @chiquichops counter-attack?
